Jack calls to postpone a meeting as he waits for Carmen at the Valley Inn. Carmen walks in but instead of talking about her case, she questions Jack about Erica. Samuel and Erica arrive and are mobbed by the paparazzi. Carmen sees them and runs over, screaming! She announces Erica's arrival. She sees Kendall and Zach, hurries over to Jack and tells him they have hurry or Erica will fall for Sam! Jack doesn't hop-to the way Carmen wants so she bugs him until he agrees with her. Zach asks Samuel about the campaign. After a few more pictures, Jack makes his way to Kendall and Erica. Carmen grabs Kendall and drags her away to talk books, leaving Jack and Erica to talk alone. Erica invites Jack to join them for dinner. Once the table is ready, Erica orders drinks for everyone. Carmen brings up Erica's marriage to Jack, telling both how wonderful they looked. Erica asks about Spike and Ian and talk turns to Spike's hockey abilities. Erica asks about Dre; Sam says he likes hockey, too. Jack comments that the paparazzi are always around, warning Sam that his campaign could be in jeopardy. Sam doesn't care. Zach gets bored with the table talking and asks Kendall if they can leave; Kendall won't hear of it because she is enjoying the sparring between Jack and Sam. Carmen calls Jack by his "Mont-Yummy" nickname, which brings up the nicknames of all the other people she knows. She tells a story about dreaming of a prince to take her away - and not waiting too long to do it! Jack still doesn't take her hints. Zach tells Kendall she owes him a big one if they stay longer. "Me in a trench coat," she says and he agrees to stay. Jack decides it is time for him to go but Carmen convinces him to stay. She realizes both Erica and Sam are missing from the table. Samuel sees Erica at the door and says they'll do dinner another time. He leaves.
Lies, Lies and More Lies!
Jack can't believe what he sees when he walks into Erica's room. When the reporter leaves, Jack brings up the campaign and Samuel says he isn't worried about Erica's reputation harming him. Erica goes on and on about talking to the kids, having a few favorite meals and shopping. She gives him a gift - a new stapler. Jack hates the impersonal gift. Sam fawns over his new tie. Jack gives Erica chocolates from Carmen. She offers the men some candy and then leaves to change. Jack tosses his candy back in the box and tells Sam to leave but Sam won't go. He tells Jack that Erica deserves another chance - without the baggage that comes with him! Sam leaves to take a business call. Jack accuses Erica of playing games and says he is tired of it. She says he is the one playing games - because he sent the divorce papers. Jack warns her that Sam won't play games any more than he will. He leaves as Sam returns. He asks Erica to attend a fund raiser with him and she agrees.
Annie Sets Her Plan In Motion!
At the Yacht Club, Greens finally tells Jack about the sailing accident. He is relieved she is okay and very excited to learn she is back together with Aidan. She tells him about Ryan and Annie. He is stunned that Greenlee is taking the baby news in stride. Jack won't let go of the Ryan situation. He says if Ryan is really her big love, she should go after him! Greens insists that Aidan is the man for her and then says in the past she only wanted a child to keep Ryan! She changes the subject to Jack's personal life. She says she knows now that Erica is who he really wants - and that he should go after her before she falls for Sam. Jack admits he still loves Erica but he isn't sure they have a future.
Samuel stops by Erica's Yacht Club room and she tells him how glad she is to be home. Samuel brings up Opal and Erica says the woman is just a little bit overprotective. She sits on the bed, says she will always have feelings for Jack but that a future with him isn't in the cards. Sam sits down beside her. She talks about fresh starts and he is about to kiss her when someone knocks on the door! It's a bellman, delivering gifts from Erica for her family and friends. Sam opens his gift - a new tie - and tries it on. Erica stands close to him; he says he can't stop thinking about her. Erica is pleased. A reporter sneaks in and takes pictures of them! Sam kisses her! Jack walks up, sees the reporter and shoves his way into the room!
Don't Lie. Just Stay Silent!
In jail, Sable accuses Erica of sleeping with her husband! She grabs Erica and threatens her with a knife. Jack tries to talk her down as she talks about her rich husband. A SWAT team arrives with guns drawn! Jack gets the guards to leave but Sable won't release her grip on Erica. Erica swears she didn't sleep with Sable's husband. The woman refuses to believe her because her husband was found dead in the bed of an Erica impersonator. She says she has lost everything - her husband, her fortune and her life - because of Erica. Jack backs up Erica and says she never slept with Sable's husband. Sable still won't give in. Jack says he'll put a good word in with the warden but Sable won't listen. Erica fights back and breaks free of her grip. The guards and SWAT team haul Sable away. Erica tells Jack everything about Sable and says she isn't the same person who caved in to Sable in the beginning. "Get me out of here!" she exclaims. Jack leads her out of prison. She passes by the guard and several other inmates.
Lashing Out!
Jack arrives at the prison to talk about Erica's early release. She sings Sam's praises but Jack isn't as excited about the other man. He says she is free to go - right now! She can't believe it. Jack asks if she would like to live with him! She thanks him but says she needs time on her own - and says she may want a house of her own! She decides to stay at the Yacht Club in the mean time. Erica talks about all the things she won't miss - including Sable, an inmate who has been harassing her. Jack is worried but Erica says it isn't a big deal. Several inmates arrive with a good luck sign. The ladies also have presents for Erica. The inmates leave and Jack says he'll check on the release papers. Erica stops him at the door and tells him that she needs time to adjust. He says he knows and walks out. Sable walks in and says she has a goodbye present for Erica! She tries to get by but Sable won't let her go.
Forgiveness or Not?
Jack escorts Kendall to the prison to see Erica. When she reaches out but can't touch her mom, Jack sends her off with the guard - and she is taken into Erica's area! He convinced the warden to let them be in the same room. Both women are excited. Erica questions Kendall about Richie's death and Kendall insists Zach didn't kill Richie. She asks about the solitary confinement moment and wonders if Sam planned the whole thing. Erica insists he didn't but Kendall is sure he did because of his attraction to her. Erica changes the subject to Carmen. Kendall still doesn't understand Erica’s friendship with the woman. She asks how things are with Jack. Erica says, "When I get out and Sam and I get together…" Kendall catches the slip and asks what happened during lockdown! Erica tells her about the kiss but says it was a mistake that won't be repeated. "Would it be so bad if it was?" Kendall asks!
Sam meets his father, Melvin, at the Yacht Club for lunch. Sam updates Melvin on the happenings in Pine Valley and Dre's possible new girlfriend. Melvin brings up Erica and asks if anything has happened with her. He says he knows that puppy-dog look of Sam's and he believes Erica feels the same way. Jack walks past with Carmen. Melvin says if Jack isn't in his way, he should go for Erica. Melvin says his wife would have wanted him to move on. Sam brings up Dre, wondering why he can't read his son the way Melvin reads him. Melvin says he just has to listen and pay attention.
At their table, Jack and Carmen talk about her case and working for Adam. She says she can handle him and that she is getting used to life in the mansion. "I'm making myself indispensable," she says, hoping that Erica will be proud of her. Sam comes over and they talk about the lock down. Carmen makes a comment about Jack and Erica getting back together; Jack says they are just client/attorney. Sam likes that news and returns to his table. Jack calls Erica and they go over Carmen's re-trial depositions. Carmen yells that she's having a wonderful time and eating great food. Erica is thrilled. Jack mentions Sam and Erica asks what he is doing.
Don't Forget Our Deal!
In prison, Carmen finishes packing and hugs Erica. Jack arrives to say it is time to go. They tearily say their goodbyes. Erica does Carmen's makeup and they talk about Adam for a while. Carmen gets a little freaked out about leaving prison, the retrial and starting her life over. Erica encourages her, which makes Carmen cry. Dressed in the evening gown from the delivery truck, Carmen hugs Erica and leaves. Jack watches Erica for a few moments. She asks him to keep Adam in line for Carmen's sake. When she gets teary, Jack says she'll be fine without Carmen. Erica reaches for the metal bars and tries to touch his hand on the other side. She is led back to her cell, alone.
