Aidan tells Di that she absolutely should not be filling in for Erin at Fusion—it's much too dangerous. She says that's exactly what she wants—she's going to flush out the killer. With her background, she insists she can handle it, but Aidan remains unconvinced.
Di says the women of Fusion have been good to her, and she can't simply sit by as they are being targeted. Aidan realizes that he can't stop her, but tells her that he has her back.
Fusion solidarity
The gang at Wildwind can't believe Erin is gone, and talk to Aidan, who's on the computer, searching for leads.
Aftershock
Julia and the gang continue their celebration at ConFusion, laughing and toasting their new living arrangements as Erin enters looking distraught.
Erin tearfully describes a scene from the office where Zarf had stripped down and pitched an idea that all the girls should get naked as well. She remembers the look that gutsy Simone gave her - this is all so unreal she cries. Aiden and Jonathon want to know how she died. They don't know yet, Erin tells them. Jamie excuses himself to phone his Dad. Erin ominously says the she thought the bad times were over, but they never really are.
Goodbye, Simone
Amanda, Del, Di, Jamie and Julia are hanging out, and discussing Amanda moving in with Julia. She agrees to.
After the other leave, Jamie and Julia sit by the fire and discuss the future of their relationship. His lease is about to expire—and they decide his new home will be with Julia.
The scene shifts to Aiden and Di, making love. She suggests they also live together. They check with Julia and she agrees "group living" is fine.
:::David is back:::
Aidan and Tad are trying to track down David, and Tad is shocked when he sees Aidan unlock his desk and get a gun. Di comes in and shares with Aiden how upset she is over the Emma/Kate fiasco. Aidan vows not to let David get away with what he's done.
Josh's first day at Chandler Industries.
There's a stalemate between Annie & Ryan and Tad & Dixie about Emma's whereabouts. Annie is getting agitated, but Dixie insists she knows nothing. Aidan has searched all night, but has come up dry. While they're talking, Dixie takes off. Annie wants to rush off after her; Ryan convinces her to stay at home with Erin and Jonathan.
Tad and Ryan come to Zach and Kendall's, searching for Dixie, but she's at David's, talking with Emma/Kate. Then she turns to David and asks if he has any idea of the chaos he's caused. He tells her there's a private jet waiting for her, along with new identities, ready to take her anywhere she chooses. She doesn't want to leave Tad; David says the only way she can have a future with Kate is to forget about him. From this moment on, it's entirely her choice. And surprise—though he did this for her, he's not coming with her.
My father or my husband?
Tad confronts Annie and Ryan, presenting the DNA test. He knows she's not a match. If she's not Emma's mother, who is? Annie says she can't explain—but that Emma is her daughter.
Ryan tells Tad that medical records are confidential—how did Tad get Annie's? Tad asks Annie to try to understand what Dixie is going through—looking for a child that was taken from her. He's going to help Dixie find the truth—not matter what it takes.
Tad assures Annie that a DNA test will eventually take place, whether or not Annie wants it. And if she's not Emma's biological mother and also didn't adopt the child, she may not have any legal right to Emma. They're going to leave, says Aidan, but they'll be back. Ryan says that until they get some real proof, they'll get no help from him.
DNA doesn't lie:::
Aidan and Di argue about the possibility of Emma being Kate. Jonathan goes to see Aidan and tells him to get his friends to back off Annie. Di explains to him that there's a real chance that the little girl is Tad and Dixie's.
You cannot tear them apart, insists Jonathan. Aiden says he's doing it for Tad. If so, says, Jonathan, their friendship is over.
The truth comes out
Aiden and Di come over to Tad's, and she sees Kate's birth certificate. They ask if she can help them find Annie and what else she knows. Di admits that she never saw Annie pregnant, and that she said Terry was not Emma's father. Tad shows how tortured he is by being unable to find his daughter, and Aiden vows not to give up until they find her.
JR shows up at Tad's, wanting to know what's going on. He's angry, and thinks Tad's assertions about Kate are an attempt to hurt his mother. Jamie comes in, and the truth about the trial is revealed. He's completely surprised, now sorry for the way he acted. He asks if Tad knows the identity of the real killer of Madden. Is it who he thinks it is?
Tad goes over to the hospital to see if David has any more of Emma's DNA material. David says he doesn't—and then spills the beans about Krystal's pregnancy.
