The Wildwind gang is decorating for Christmas when Julia rushes in and announces "I'm getting the best Christmas present!" Her friends Jim and Linda are on the way to Pine Valley, and they're the only friends she ever made during her years on the road.
The doorbell rings and it's a coatless, carless Tad, who's acting a bit strange. Jamie and Julia are worried about him. Tad tells Julia that he thinks there's no Christmas star in the sky this year. While Julia answers the phone and Jamie goes to get him a coat, he disappears into the night. Tad is still wandering in the snow when he trips and hits his head. When he looks up, Fr. Clarence is there to offer help.
The two lost women of Fusion "fought like warriors" for the people they loved, says Kendall in her eulogy.
Jon tries to pay tribute to Erin, but is too broken up to continue with his eulogy for his sister.
The remaining Fusion women place roses on the coffins and hold hands, surrounding their lost friends.
After the service, Tad and Aidan ask Derek to let them help him find what appears to be a serial killer. He tells them to "stay out of his way"—and keep an eye on their loved ones.
Tad declines to go to the post-funeral reception, and stays to keep vigil at the cemetery. Brooke tells Dixie that Tad's gone off to a place where they can't reach him. What can they do?
Zach tells Kendall he'll be late getting to Fusion. He's going to look for answers. Tad is alone at the cemetery, except for Zach, who approaches and says he wants to hire Tad. Tad is surprised and asks who Zach wants investigated. "Me," Zach replies.
Does this have anything to do with the murders, asks Tad? Zach says there's a message in it—a message to him. He gives Tad a packet of information that he claims is "everything about him" and to do whatever he need to do to find answers. But what does this have to do with Zach, asks Tad? "Gardenia…and a single white ribbon."
Jon can't bear to leave Erin's coffin until Amanda offers her hand. He goes to the reception, but it's too painful to stay. He goes back to Wildwind to talk to Amanda, and tells her that he couldn't have gotten through this without her.
Suddenly, he stands up and says he "can't do this to her!" He says he's trying to protect her and keep her from being hurt—but an angry Amanda calls that "BS." She loves her friends—and she still loves him. She gets up to leave, and Jon asks her to stay. He says he can't imagine the world without his sister—and he can't imagine life without her.
Emma comforts a weeping Ryan, and gives him a "feel better" card she's made.
Ryan tells Emma that her card has made him feel better. Amanda and Jon arrive with the things from Erin's desk, and the announcement they've discovered something. Jon shows him an old comic book that Ryan sent to Erin when they were children.
Jon tells Ryan that he and Erin didn't resent Ryan for leaving when they were children—but Ryan's not buying it, and insists he should have protected them both. Jon and Amanda insist that Erin loved and was proud of Ryan.
Jon says that he doesn't think he can continue living in the condo, with all its memories of Erin. Amanda tells him that there's room at Wildwind, and it would be good for him to be around people. Jon agrees.
Ryan thanks Annie for sticking by him, and tells her how "amazing" she is…with a kiss.
Danielle is surprised when Livia, who is supposed to be out of town for the next week, shows up at Fusion. Livia says that Derek called and told her about the murders. She insists that Danielle return home with her.
Amanda and Jonathan arrive at the Fusion office, where he plans to collect her things. Danielle offers to do that for him, but a sad Jon insists that it's something he has to do.
When he finds one of Ryan's old comic books in her things, he's even sadder, since it seemed that they were finally all going to be a family again.
As they're about to leave, Zarf tells Jon that Erin loved him, and nothing can take that away from him. Jon replies that Erin love Fusion and her friends, and it was one of the places where she was the happiest.
Jon asks Ryan is he's going to get the "bast***" who killed Erin. "No question," he responds. Amanda brings Jon back to Wildwind, so that he can be around people who care for him.
Annie comes to the M.E.'s office to be with Ryan, and to show her love for Erin. Ryan tells her how much Erin cared for her and Emma. "I know," says Annie. "How can I help you?"
A tearful Ryan asks her to please pick out a dress for Erin to be buried in.
Grief-stricken Jon demands to know who killed his sister. He accuses Aidan of being responsible for Erin's death. Zach and Ryan promise to pursue the killer; Amanda takes Jon back to the office. Derek arrives to question everyone in the club. He discovers that Zarf has a connection with both Simone and Erin.
Aidan demands that Derek allow him to help with the case, or he will do his own investigation. He explains how special Erin was to him. Derek says he cannot do that, and can't risk involving anyone who might be out for revenge.
Jonathan tells Amanda about all the things Erin did to help him. Why couldn’t he have been there to help her when she needed him? Amanda has convinced Derek to allow Jon some extra time with Erin before the investigation gets underway, and takes him to her.
Erin and Di are at conFusion, discussing the events of the day. Is Di "giving" Aidan to Erin?
Aidan comes up to Zarf, and asks if he's "Freddie Luper" from Indiana. "She's dead," replies Zarf. Zarf point out Erin and Di, and asks "which one is mine?"
Zarf runs into Erin and asks her a series of questions about what she hopes and long for.Josh is at the gym, taking out his frustrations on a punching bag, and shooting the breeze with Amanda. She tells him that he doesn't understand how difficult it is to live in a town where one has to see some you love but can't have.
Later that evening, Josh goes up to the roof, where he find Erin--dead!
Back at conFusion, Jonathan overhears Amanda and Del talking about her moving into Wildwood. He's concerned about her being so close to Del, but she says not to worry.
Erin explains to Jonathan what's happened. He wants her to use the Miranda Center computer to find the foster home where Emma is—so that he can kidnap Emma and return her to Annie. She tells him this is a crazy idea and begs him not to do that—and he agrees. Amanda overhears their conversation. After Erin leaves, she comes in and says that he's a liar—and is going to get Emma. She tries to stop him, but he's determined to proceed. Amanda asks him why he doesn't care about his own future any more. Amanda begs him to fight for himself as hard as he does for other people, and to keep her promise to Erin.
