Paranoia!

Jake stops David in the hospital and tells him that Amanda hasn't returned his calls. David says she's just resting in case she's pregnant. Jake wonders how she could be pregnant when the doctor told him she didn't perform the insemination. David admits that he informed the doctor her services were no longer needed. Jake demands to know why. David says Dr. Hines didn't have a great track record. Jake is skeptical that David suddenly switched doctors, and is upset that he wasn't told. David says his paranoia is getting tiresome. Just then, Amanda appears. Jake takes her aside and she apologizes for not calling him back - she needed to sort things out. Jake says she can tell him anything - why did she hide that they blew off the fertility doctor? Amanda asks what the big deal is about switching doctors? Jake says it's the way they're both acting - and he's terrified of what the reason might be. He asks, "There was an insemination, right?" Amanda says of course, but Jake insists something is wrong. Amanda blurts, "I did what I needed to do!" Jake asks what that means. Amanda says he's making this harder for her and stalks off!

Amanda searches out David in the hospital and rants about Jake questioning her and what a mess it all is. David reaches out to comfort her, and she tells him not to touch her ever again! Jake appears and decks David!

The Bloodhound Gang!

In a bubble bath at Wildwind, Amanda flashes back to having sex with David in the car. She gets a text from Jake saying he's on his way over. She sobs, and gets out to go downstairs. When Jake arrives, she tells him she would like some time alone - she's just trying to put this whole thing behind her. Jake moves toward her, but she asks him not to touch her. Jake is puzzled. She admits that she's acting like she was raped, saying David used her body to fill with a baby. She assures him that he and Trevor are the light at the end of the tunnel. Jake still can't understand why he can't hug her - he asks if there's something she's not telling him.

David comes home to find Amanda crying to Jake. Jake lashes out, saying what David forcing her to conceive a baby has affected her. David says it was all mutual, but maybe he has gone too far with all of his rules. He says if the pregnancy is going to take hold, Amanda should relax and be happy - he tells Amanda to go to Jake's house for a few days. Jake is ready to pack her up, but Amanda says she can't go! She explains that she can't bounce back and forth. Jake tightly says he'll stand by her, but it seems funny that he has to do that by leaving. Once Jake leaves, Amanda smacks David across the face! David is shocked, and they argue. Amanda lets him know that she feels dirty. He says he never wanted that, but she says not only can she not live with Jake - she has to figure out how to live with herself!

Seed of Doubt!

In the stranded car, Amanda tells David not to talk or to look at her while they're having sex. She gets into the backseat. David follows. After, David says, "That wasn't so bad was it?" Amanda asks if he's crazy, and says she feels sick. David reminds her they only had sex so she could get her life back as quickly as possible. Amanda says she did it for that reason - he's just a sick bastard! David's phone rings - it's Jake. David hands it to Amanda, who tells Jake she forgot her own phone this morning. Jake says he called the clinic, but they wouldn't tell him anything. Amanda merely says it's over and they're on their way back. Jake tells her he loves her. She hangs up. David says she handled that perfectly. Amanda cries, and David reminds her how she feels about Trevor - it will be the same with the new one they just made!

Amanda and David arrive home and Jake is waiting. He immediately notices that Amanda is acting strangely. David says he'll leave them alone, but first makes a speech to Jake about how this was never about keeping them apart - only about making a new life. Jake doesn't know how to respond. David leaves the room, and Jake asks Amanda what happened at the clinic - something is off. Amanda is curt with him, and asks him to stop asking questions. Jake asks why David is suddenly being civil to him. Amanda says he got everything he wanted. Jake replies that he didn't get her. Amanda clears her throat and says she just wants to go to bed. Jake tells her everything will look better in the morning, then leaves. David comes down with the baby and asks if she's alright. Amanda sobs, saying, "How could I do this to him?" David gestures to Trevor, and tells her she did it for him.

BackSeat Days!

David and Amanda bicker in the stranded car about whether or not she will conceive right away. When she brings up Trevor, David suggests that maybe that would work again. Amanda says, "Make a baby the old-fashioned way? No way!" David chuckles, and tells her to relax - he's not trying to get lucky - his backseat days were over long ago! He reminds her that she may hate the memory of that night, but they made an amazing little person, and with luck, they'll do it again! As they continue to argue, David suggests that Jake may have ulterior motives too. She says he's just jealous. David insists he wants this all over quickly, just as she does - he doesn't want her around his house acting miserable! Amanda says she's taking a walk. She's soon back, saying she pulled a muscle. They start arguing again about her window to conceive passing them by. Amanda cries that she just wants to get this over with. David says if they did it the natural way, Jake would never have to know. Amanda says no, but David says it would just be insemination to conceive a child - not like cheating. David says they'll tell Jake they went to the clinic as planned. Amanda makes him swear on Trevor's life that he won't tell Jake. David agrees. Amanda is conflicted, but says, "Let's do it." She says he'd better make it quick, and he can't talk, or look at her! David muses that his backseat days aren't over after all!

Out of Gas!

At Jake's place, he and Amanda kiss, but he asks her not to tease. Amanda says she needs him to make love to her. Jake says she can't violate her contract, and urges her to keep her eye on the prize. She asks if he wants to kiss the prize? Jake insists that they need to go. Amanda is discouraged at the idea of raising two kids with David in the picture all the time. Jake says they'll figure out a way to get rid of him.

Jake arrives at ConFusion and tells David that Amanda will be along soon. David goads Jake, who informs David he's nothing more than a deposit in a cup. Amanda appears and kisses Jake. David informs them that the clinic where they're doing the procedure is out of town. They bicker about the change in venue, but Amanda just wants to go - this needs to happen today. She and David leave. Ryan passes them on his way in. He grabs Jake's arm and says he needs his help. Jake agrees to do whatever he can - if Annie comes into the hospital faking a miscarriage, he'll make sure he's the one who sees to her.

Amanda and David are driving in his car. She is upset that he's taking back roads in the dark. He asks why she was late to meet him, but she doesn't want to talk. Suddenly, the car grinds to a halt - they're out of gas. David gets on the cellphone to arrange for a tow truck. He hangs up and breaks the news that it can't come until morning. Amanda accuses him of doing this on purpose so she wouldn't get pregnant right away. David maintains his innocence. Amanda tells him as far as conceiving a baby, it's now or never! They discuss Trevor, and how he was a result of drunken sex. David thinks she's suggesting that they try to conceive that way again!
