Love and faith and destiny

Wednesday, December 27 2006

Adam's presenting Krystal with extravagant Christmas gifts. There's a knock on the door and it's a tired and rumpled Tad. Dixie tells him how worried she'd been. He begins to share with her about the amazing experiences of the evening, and how in Christmases to come, they will share the company of children.

Tad tells Dixie that he has plenty of time to discuss whatever it was she wanted to talk about. He tells her that he now has reason to hope, and that God wants them to find Kate. While he may not have any new information, he now has faith—thanks to Fr. Clarence. He's wished on the Christmas star, and he knows they are going to find her.

Dixie suddenly announces that she's in no rush to have that discussion with Tad, and Adam comes in and asks them to meet him in the parlor to discuss something important about the baby.

Adam announces he's made a big decision: he wants Tad and Dixie to act as Charlotte's godparents. They both agree and say they're honored. Later, Dixie promises Krystal that she will never tell anyone that Tad is the father of Krystal's baby.

Alone, Adam and JR discuss the camera that Colby's installed in Babe's room. JR says that he still needs to know what Babe is doing.

Home for the holidays

Tuesday, December 26 2006

Krystal tells Dixie she will be the one to tell Adam. "Tell what?" he demands! Krystal tells him only half the story and Adam thinks that Dixie is simply trying to make trouble. He also says he understands Dixie's pain in not having Kate, and promises to do all her can to help her and Tad find the girl.

Adam leaves and an astonished Dixie asks Krystal if she was really going to tell Adam the truth. Yes, a weeping Krystal replies. She admits that her baby is Tad's, and begs Dixie not to ruin Adam's happiness. If Tad and Adam are ever to know, Krystal asks to be the one to tell them—and Dixie agrees.

Alone, Dixie looks up at the Christmas star and asks for sign. Should she tell Tad he has another child?

Marian comes over and tells Colby that Liza loves Colby and misses her at Christmas. Why isn't she there, asks Colby. Marian explains that Liza thinks Colby, after missing so many holidays with her father, would like to spend Christmas with Adam. Colby is skeptical.

Babe gives JR an Eiffel Tower tree ornament, mentioning that they once planned a family trip to France. He has a Christmas gift for her as well, and warmly wishes her Merry Christmas.

Tad awakes in the snow with a sprained ankle, is surprised by the appearance of Fr. Clarence and a chapel in the woods. They are chatting quietly when suddenly Tad has a vision, and tells Fr. Clarence that he doesn't belong in a sacred place. "We're all sinners," says Fr. Clarence. "But my sin is murder," says Tad.

"JR has had a rough go of it," says Fr. Clarence. Tad is shocked that Clarence knows about JR, and says a good father would never turn his back on his son. Just like between you and God, says Clarence. Tad's not hearing it, claiming that God's turned his back on him. He swears to Fr. Clarence that he'll "do anything…be anything" if God will protect Kate. As he wanders out into the night, he looks to the stars and wishes "please, send us Kate."

A Pine Valley Christmas Eve

Friday, December 22 2006

Dixie drops in at Wildwind quizzes Jamie and Julia about Tad's whereabouts, saying how worried she is and that she has information that might cheer him up.

Dixie drops in at Wildwind and quizzes Jamie and Julia about Tad's whereabouts, saying how worried she is and that she has information that might cheer him up.

Tad is wandering outside in the cold, his discussions with David playing through his mind. Dixie finally reaches Tad on her phone and begs him to meet her at his house, saying she has to talk to him. She gets to his house and enters, but Tad is nowhere to be found. Suddenly the door opens. It's Father Clarence, and he's come to see Dixie!

Fr. Clarence says he knows "a lot" about Dixie, and that last year Tad wished on the Christmas star for Dixie's return. Dixie is surprised when he tells her that she "has a gift for Tad" and can't figure out how he knew that. "I have a way of knowing what's in people's hearts," says Fr. Clarence.

"Your daughter's not lost…she's where God wants her to be," says Fr. Clarence to Dixie. "The news that'll make Tad so happy…it's a child on the way, right?"

"You're no longer alone in the world," says Fr. Clarence, "and Tad is looking for his answers, just as you are looking for yours."

When Dixie returns to Chandler manse, Adam sees how emotional she is and asks if anything is wrong. She says that it's not the right time to say what needs to be said—and Krystal interrupts and says she'll say it.

Tad's dark night of the soul

Thursday, December 21 2006

As they chat on the Fusion roof, Babe insists to Dixie that Krystal's baby is Adam's. "You don't have to protect your mother…not from me," replies Dixie. Babe urges her not to ruin Adam and Krystal's happiness with her lies!

It did happen, says Dixie. She was there. And she won't back down. It's true and that David was going to announce that on the DVD Babe smashed. Babe tells Dixie that if she tells Adam Tad is Charlotte's father, he'll leave Krystal and break her heart. And why is Dixie believing David's claim? After all, didn't he also say that Emma was Kate? "Please Dixie," she begs, leave Mama and Adam's baby out of this."

Jack tells Bianca what a great job she's done and how he'll always be there for her—no matter what happens between him and Erica.

Bianca tells Zach that she knows his secret—his desire to protect them and his anguish when he can't. But, she insists, the killer is not Zarf! He may be strange, but he's not a killer. She remains at Fusion, despite Kendall's suggestion she leave. Bianca insists that she's safe with her bodyguard.

Bianca comes out on the roof and Dixie peppers her with questions—especially about how Bianca was able to forgive Babe for keeping Bianca from Miranda. Bianca acknowledges that she really has not forgiven Babe.

Dixie jumps on that and says "so you haven't forgiven her." Bianca admits she has a range of emotions about Babe—but keeping a mother from her child is unforgivable. But Bianca also says that this is only her experience—she doesn't want to complicate things for Dixie.

Farewell to Simone and Erin

Wednesday, December 20 2006

The two lost women of Fusion "fought like warriors" for the people they loved, says Kendall in her eulogy.

Jon tries to pay tribute to Erin, but is too broken up to continue with his eulogy for his sister.

The remaining Fusion women place roses on the coffins and hold hands, surrounding their lost friends.

After the service, Tad and Aidan ask Derek to let them help him find what appears to be a serial killer. He tells them to "stay out of his way"—and keep an eye on their loved ones.

Tad declines to go to the post-funeral reception, and stays to keep vigil at the cemetery. Brooke tells Dixie that Tad's gone off to a place where they can't reach him. What can they do?

Zach tells Kendall he'll be late getting to Fusion. He's going to look for answers. Tad is alone at the cemetery, except for Zach, who approaches and says he wants to hire Tad. Tad is surprised and asks who Zach wants investigated. "Me," Zach replies.

Does this have anything to do with the murders, asks Tad? Zach says there's a message in it—a message to him. He gives Tad a packet of information that he claims is "everything about him" and to do whatever he need to do to find answers. But what does this have to do with Zach, asks Tad? "Gardenia…and a single white ribbon."

Everyone is gathered at Fusion for the reception, where large photos of Erin and Simone are looking out over the guests. Bianca is surprised when Miranda and her nanny arrive, and Miranda rushes to Babe for a giant hug.

Erica shares with Ryan how the love of her family and friends helped her deal with the crushing grief she felt after her mother died.

Josh asks Babe if she's ok, and is skeptical when she says this is going to be a good Christmas.

Kendall checks with Josh to make sure he's going forward with his "investigation" of Emma's paternity. He says he will, and gets Emma to take a sip from a juice box, in order to get a DNA sample.

Later, Kendall's having second thoughts and tells Josh to forget about getting the DNA sample from Emma. After a moment's thought, she tells him to "do it."

Livia tells Jack that he and Erica are being stubborn—and to get back together with her. Isn't that the message of today: treasure the time we have with the ones we love?

Later, she chats with Erica and tells her to think about it, saying nobody wants this divorce.

Babe is on the roof, when Dixie comes out to tell Babe what a great job she doing. And then she drops a bombshell, saying that Krystal "made the right choice."

Ryan speaks to the reception guests about remembering the joy that all of them got out of knowing Simone and Erin, and asks that they all be kind to each other and to the people in their lives.

After Ryan's speech, Erica goes to speak to Jack and tell him about her interactions with Sean. He cares a lot about Jack, says Erica—and so does she.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Tuesday, December 19 2006

Tad tells Dixie that he's been too busy investigating Simone's death to interact with his friends. Dixie can't believe Tad's thrown his Christmas decorations in the trash. He says that he's over Christmas. It's for children…and he's "fresh out."

Dixie tries to cheer him up and remind him that Christmas is for everyone—especially the child inside of each of us. And oh…she thinks Krystal is carrying his child! He says she's crazy and that Krystal swore that the baby is Adam's—but Dixie insists she's right.

He appreciates that Dixie is trying to help him, but insists that they will get through this. He believes Krystal when she said she is not carrying his baby. Dixie asks if that means he's given up hope that they'll ever find Kate, which he denies. He says he's doing pretty well for a man who has just lost one of his best friends and has a daughter who is missing. Dixie cheers him up enough to get him to do some decorating.
