Tension & Tempers

At the Chandler mansion, Dixie continues to sidestep JR's questions, but JR is having none of it - "Did Colby lie?" he presses, "No more secrets, Mom." Dixie tells him to please forget about it. JR is angry that once again, his mother is keeping him in the dark.

Dixie makes up JR's bed as he badgers her. "I can take whatever the secret is, but not anymore lies." he tells her. She says she is sorry that so many people have hurt him, but Colby is wrong, there is no secret. "Please don't think about it anymore." she begs. JR thinks to himself, "My mother - the world's worst liar..."

Accusations

Outside Linda's hospital room, Tad and Dixie stand watching her interact with her daughter. They clasp hands & quietly discuss Kate. As they walk away, Julia arrives, takes a deep breath and opens the door. She tells Linda she has been doing some thinking and has visited the hospital chapel.

Walking outside, Dixie muses to Tad that she hopes whoever has Kate is as good for her as Julia will be for Kathy. She tells Tad the reason she wanted Kate so much is because in all the years they were married they never had had a child of their own, together.

Sitting on a park bench, Tad muses to Dixie that their Kate is out there somewhere. Dixie says that even though she'll continue to hope it's time to live in the present. She surprises Tad by saying she is thinking about becoming a patient advocate again to help people. He looks at her lovingly, noticing the scarf around her neck. Tad reminds her that their first kiss was over a scarf. He has an idea and asks her to stay there and wait for him to come back.

Tad has arrived back at the park bench with take-out chicken fingers for Dixie from an establishment they used to frequent years ago. It brings back good memories, Dixie grins. Just then Tad gets a call from Aiden telling him there has a break in the Fusion case - get over to the ER!

Back at Adam's Colby tells JR that when she was hiding in the tunnels awhile back she heard a conversation between Tad and Krystal alluding to a secret - and Krystal was angry because Dixie knew about it! You're in enough trouble, JR tells Colby, just leave it alone! "Fine!" Colby huffs as she leaves. As Krystal and Adam sit downstairs discussing the developments with Colby, Dixie arrives at JR's room to visit. He invites her in to sit down - let's talk he says...

A door closes, a door opens

Tad comes to the Chandler manse to see Dixie. He needs to talk to her, and tells her about his investigation of Zach. He believes that Zach is connected in some way to the Fusion murders. Dixie is aghast, and tries to help in any way she can, but she doesn't remember much.

Tad also suggests that Dixie should have a bodyguard. He wants to keep her "nice and safe." She scoffs, but he insists.

Tempers flare in Pine Valley

Dixie goes into JR's room and finds him watching the feed from Josh's room.

Jamie and Julia arrive with little Kathy in tow. She's going to play with Little A, but the girl takes a shine to Dixie and asks her to play with her. Julia does an acupuncture session on JR, and again urges him to avoid stress in order to heal. She leaves and goes to join Dixie and Kathy. Her phone rings and it's the hospital asking her to come in right away—Linda has taken a bad turn.

When one of the bodyguards reports to JR, he learns of Josh and Babe's New Year's kiss, and Babe's presence at the Valley Inn. This enrages JR and gets he gets on the phone to his attorney, demanding he find a way for JR to gain sole custody of Little A.

Love and faith and destiny

At the Valley Inn, Zarf's holding forth on the meaning of Christmas. Babe drops by for a visit, and Zarf tells her that's he's "ready to find his destiny." He suggests that she will be part of this journey. At that moment, Bianca enters the room and a besotted Zarf says "it begins." She's accompanied by Josh, and Babe is angry that apparently Zarf invited her specifically to get her together with Josh/aka "her destiny."

She calls Josh "arrogant" for being part of Zarf's scheme, and then decides to stay for coffee, announcing that she'll leave when she is ready. Babe tells him that she had a wonderful Christmas with JR and her family, and that JR is the man she wants—but Josh doesn't believe her, and insists he's the man she really wants. When Babe becomes angry, her bodyguard intercedes and tells Josh to get lost. A few minutes later the guard is back, without Babe, who he's lost track of!

As Bianca and Zarf sit together, he tells her that he's trying to discover the courage to face his destiny. She comments on how comfortable Miranda was with him, even though she's usually shy with strangers.
