Inside, Tad tries to get Adam to leave and stop making a scene. Adam yells for JR. Dixie, nearby, tells Adam that he can't protect his family in this way; the bad things are already in motion. Both Krystal and Adam are upset to hear that JR is in a room with Babe, and Adam sets off to find them. Tad catches him on the way out and says he needs to be in a mental hospital. Adam rambles about his kids not being safe and threatens to break Tad "like a stick" if he tries to stop him from protecting them. At every turn, Dixie appears in front of Adam warning him that people are about to get hurt. He's cocky and leaves Dixie and her advice behind as he sets off again to find JR and Babe.
The party is winding down and Jake announces to Julia that he's going to leave, but as he starts to make his way to the door, Dixie knocks a chair over in his path. She whispers to him again, saying he can't go, he needs to be there to help Tad. Jake backtracks and tells Julia that for some strange reason he feels like he should stick around. Kathy stops by and says she needs a trip to the ladies' room, and Colby offers to take her. But when Colby and Kathy try to leave the restroom, the door won't open. Dixie's on the other side, holding it closed.
Downstairs, the elevator opens and Angie and Rob step out, spotting Aidan. Angie screams for Aidan's help and Aidan pulls his gun, but Rob bullies him into putting it away. He drags Angie into the reception, and the crowd shrinks back when they see the gun. To make matters worse, Aidan bursts in behind them with his gun drawn. There's a brief pause of a standoff, during which Dixie begs Tad to leave. Tad doesn't hear her, of course, and slowly Rob points the gun and shoots. Julia slumps over. There are screams as everyone rushes to help Julia. Rob pulls the trigger again and Greg is hit in the arm. Satisfied, Rob drags Angie out of the reception. Things aren't looking good for Julia, who's slipping away despite attempts to help her. The ambulance comes to take her away. Colby and Adam try to console Kathy, who's worried about "Aunt Julia."
Jesse, Tad, Jake and Frankie try to head off Rob and Angie as they get into the elevator again, but he threatens to kill Angie and once again wins out. It's back to the stairwell for Jesse, this time with help from Tad, Jake and Frankie. Rob and Angie are also in the stairwell and as she yells that they're headed for the roof, Rob shoots blindly over the rail at the pursuers. Rob and Angie reach the rooftop, where the helicopter is waiting. Rob approaches the helicopter and shoots the pilot, then drags Angie inside. Just as he's about to board the helicopter himself, the guys pile out of the stairwell. Rob hails the doorway with a barrage of gunfire. The helicopter takes off and the guys run out on the rooftop to catch it. Rob shoots out the window of the helicopter and, though Dixie tries to stop it from happening, Tad runs right through her and is hit by a bullet! Jesse dives off the edge of the building, hands outstretched to catch the runner of the helicopter...
Joining in the festivities, Babe and JR dance, and Babe thanks JR for not calling her an idiot for believing Richie's lies. She suggests that she has a plan for revenge that she will let him in on later. They have a seat and just as JR is wondering why Dixie would be haunting Adam but not making herself known to him or Tad, the waiter brings a plate of chocolate chip cookies to the table. JR and Babe are freaked out by it. Who ordered these? They dig in as Dixie stands next to JR, her hand on his shoulder. Friendly companionship turns serious when Babe licks some warm chocolate off JR's finger. Next thing you know, the two are making plans to go somewhere a little more private. They make their way to the hotel front desk to get a room for the night. They barely make it into the room before they're ripping each other's clothes off. "Do we really want to do this again?" Babe asks. They fall into bed together...
On the sidelines, Frankie tries to talk Dre into asking Cassandra to dance. Dre reluctantly gathers up the courage and pairs off with her. While Frankie looks on, Colby joins him. She's trying to get her flirt on, but is interrupted by a phone call from Adam. He's worried that she's in danger and is calling from the road, as he instructs the driver to take him to the casino, pronto! Adam arrives at the hotel and is immediately confronted by Dixie, who tells him that time is running out and he'd better get moving. He rushes into the reception and yanks Colby out of the dance. She resists and Tad comes to her aid. "You're not welcome here," Tad says to Adam. As Colby struggles to get out of Adam's grip, Jake steps in to back his brother. Adam starts to throw a fit, but Dixie taunts him, daring him to 'fess up what he knows.
It's wedding day for Angie and Jesse and everyone is putting on their best dresses, suits and smiles for the big event. Greenlee, Kendall, Zach, Aidan, Babe and JR, Tad and Krystal, Colby, Stuart, Joe, Opal, Greg... everyone who is anyone is going to be there! Dixie watches from the wings. Tad remarks that today's going to be a good day. Dixie, with a sad look on her face, predicts, "No it won't, Tad. It won't."
Adam and Dixie are still having it out in Adam's room at Oak Haven, where Adam vows to never give in to Dixie's demands that he reveal Kate's whereabouts to Tad. "Something terrible is about to happen," Dixie warns. But Adam doesn't believe her. Dixie hints, however, that the pain and suffering coming down the pike might not be directed at Adam, but at someone he loves instead. She tells him that the bad thing can only change if he does the right thing. She disappears before revealing to Adam who will suffer, her voice echoing only that the people who will suffer are the ones he loves the most. Stuart shows up and Adam tells him about Dixie's threat. "I can't let this happen. I've got to find a way to stop her!" Adam says. But Stuart tells Adam that he's the one who needs to stop. He advises Adam to "act normal" when the doctor shows up to evaluate him so maybe he can go home. And then, Stuart says, he'll talk to Dixie again and ask her to stop haunting Adam. As soon as Stuart leaves, Dixie materializes again, with a "last warning." JR shows up at Oak Haven just as Adam is being seen by the doctor. JR's getting impatient, but before he knows it, Adam steps out, looking like his old self again, released from the hospital.
At Oak Haven, Adam gets a special visitor: Tad! It's hardly a meeting between friends and Adam can't wait to tell Tad that he's there because Dixie won't leave him alone. As Adam blusters about what a horrible spirit Dixie is Tad warns him, crazy or not, to watch his mouth when talking about her. Tad, watching Adam rant and rave at nobody, surmises that JR is right and Adam's crazy, the guilt of being such a horrible person having finally gotten to him. Suddenly, Dixie, having finished begging Jake in his sleep to help Tad find Kate, appears in Adam's room again, ready to harass him some more. Adam tries to convince Dixie to show herself, even trying to toss a blanket over her so Tad can see that she's there, but she won't show herself to Tad. Dixie taunts Adam big-time, poking at and tickling him, and Tad becomes more convinced than ever that Adam has lost his mind. Colby and JR show up at Oak Haven to visit Adam as well, and JR assures Colby that Adam won't be there for long, that they'll figure this out together. Tad comes out of the room and tells them that it doesn't look good for Adam. He offers to help. "You're being so nice about him. That means he's really sick, isn't he?" a worried Colby asks. After talking to JR and Colby, Tad goes back into Adam's room. He tells Adam that they're trying to help him. But despite Tad's olive branch, Adam's still not feeling friendly. Instead he suddenly lashes out at Tad, shoving him backwards onto the bed. Adam tries to make Tad jealous about Dixie, but it only further serves to freak out Tad. Tad comes back out of the room, and whisks JR and Colby out of there. In his room, Adam vows to destroy Tad. Dixie warns him that he will only be the loser in that fight. "You have no idea what pain is coming if you don't do this one thing," she warns.
At the Chandler mansion, Colby is unhappy with JR because he's sent Adam to Oak Haven. Stuart comes in and doesn't look surprised to hear that Adam is gone. He explains that Adam had told him that Dixie was haunting him. Stuart says that, at Adam's behest, he talked to Dixie and asked her to leave Adam alone. "But I don't think it worked," he says. Suddenly Stuart finds the stuffed giraffe that's been missing for all these years and has now reappeared, and suggests that Dixie might really be haunting the mansion. JR, a non-believer, leaves. Stuart comforts Colby, saying he knows that Adam is going to beat whatever it is that's going on with him. Colby has to leave, but on her way out asks Stuart to take the stuffed elephant back to the Hubbards' house.
