At the hospital, Kendall insists that this is all a sham. Greenlee doesn’t think that someone would actually do that, but Kendal is not changing her mind! Annie tells Ryan that she can’t believe that he is here. She apologizes for what she has done and wants to explain about why she hired a lawyer and said all of those things. He tells her that he did lose his temper and that he is really sorry for that. She holds her stomach and promises that she will try to remain calm to keep the baby safe. The doctor comes in and tells them that the sonogram indicates that the fetal heart beat has stabilized but that they are still waiting on all of the blood work. The doctor instructs her to get some rest. Ryan walks out of the patient area and updates Kendall, Greenlee and Zach. When he steps away, Kendall tells Greenlee that Annie is twisting Ryan into knots and that they have to help. She says that Ryan’s biggest fear is him turning into his father, so what does Annie do? She puts bruises on her arm and points fingers at Ryan and tries to ruin his whole family. Greenlee says that if she really wants to help she will stay out of it. Annie looks up at the foot of her bed and her brother’s ghost suddenly appears. He tells her that this is going great! He gloats that she is on fire! She tells him to leave, but he won’t go. He tells her that she had better love this baby because it is the only reason that Ryan isn’t riding off into the sunset with Greenlee!
Zach and Ryan have a cup of coffee in the waiting room. Ryan tells him that he just can’t get it right and maybe he doesn’t deserve a family! Ryan blames himself for Greenlee miscarrying, Kendall almost losing Spike and now this with Annie. He tells Zach that he is the common denominator. Zach tries to calm him down, but Ryan says if they lose this baby, it will be a sign that he is not meant to be a father! He tells Zach that he can’t ignore what is in his genes and that he can’t change who he is. Kendall tells Greenlee that Ryan doesn’t belong with that big bag of crazy! She asks Greenlee if she is staying out of it just so Ryan won’t interfere with her marriage to Aidan? Greenlee can’t believe that Kendall is bringing all of that up and insists that this is between Ryan and Annie. Greenlee tries to defend Annie, but Kendall won’t hear of it. Greenlee steps away to call Aidan and Kendall sneaks in the room with Annie. She tells Annie that this must be working perfectly for her. Annie tells her to leave and goes to push the call nurse button, but Kendall grabs the remote and says that she’s not going anywhere until she hears what she has to say! Kendall recaps the events that have happened and tells Annie that she wants to hear her say how she is using the child to trap Ryan into this marriage. Annie screams to Kendall that it is sick the way she only wants Ryan to have ever loved her and Greenlee! The two of them continue to yell at each other and suddenly Annie cramps over as the monitors start to sound. Kendall panics and runs out to get the doctors. Ryan and Zach run in wanting to know what has happened!
Zach and Kendall go to the waiting room to talk. Zach tells Kendall that she just couldn’t keep quite and that she had to accuse Annie. Kendall says that yes, she had to do it. She can’t stand that she is lying about all of this. Annie cries and says that the baby is gone…she can feel it. The doctor keeps quiet and searches for a heartbeat on the monitor. Greenlee comes in and asks Kendall how she could do this. Kendall insists that she did the right thing. The doctor turns to Ryan and Annie and tells them that she is sorry. Kendall tells Greenlee that she is just shoving Ryan back to Annie so that she doesn’t have to deal with the fact that Ryan really loves her. Greenlee tries to deny it, but Kendall tells her that Aidan wouldn’t stand a chance if Ryan came crawling to her with all of that love. Aidan walks up just as Kendall finishes the comment. Back in the room Ryan asks Annie what Kendall said to her. Annie cries and tells him that it is not Kendall’s fault and that it is hers. Annie tells Ryan that she did all of this. She says that she loved him so much and that she couldn’t stand that he was slipping away. Annie tells him that she has done horrible things and kept them a secret. Annie says that she needs to tell him everything!
Moving On and Stepping Back...
Between security, JR and Adam, Ryan is escorted back to the sitting room. Adam dismisses security and tells Petey, who was outside Colby's room, that he can leave, too. Ryan tells the gathering that Annie has been lying for months now but Babe keeps sticking up for Annie. So do JR and Adam. Adam brings up Kendall and Greenlee, saying they have been pushing at Annie and making her insecurities grow. Ryan tells him to leave the other women out of it. Adam says she just needs time and space. Ryan says he'll leave but once he reaches the door, he locks Adam, JR and Babe inside. Petey tries to stop him from going upstairs but can't. Annie barely makes it back to bed before Ryan bursts in, followed by Adam, JR and Babe who were released by Petey. Adam offers to call security. She says she is fine and tries to put Emma back to bed but the little girl wants to be with Ryan. Babe leads her away to the kitchen with promises of ice cream. The Chandler's leave. Ryan confronts her about the restraining order. She says he has hurt her much more than simple physical abuse and then has another cramp. She falls to the floor. "Help us," she whispers. Ryan carries her downstairs; JR promises to keep an eye on Emma. When they are alone, JR asks Adam what he is really up to by letting Petey hang around and being nice to Babe. Adam insists he is just turning over a new leaf, that Petey is a good influence on Colby and that Babe deserves all of the accolades. JR returns to the sitting room. Petey steps from behind a column and tells Adam he is the king of subterfuge. Adam tells him not to get too comfortable around Colby!
At the hospital, Annie begs the doctors to save her baby. Annie says she has had some spotting and cramps. Jake arrives as the other doctor moves Annie to a private room. Ryan tries to follow but Annie tells him to leave her alone. Jake promises to keep Ryan informed; he goes to the waiting room where Greenlee is. They watch a 9/11 report on television and reflect on the problems they are facing now. Ryan brings up Annie and swears he didn't create the bruises she was showing off. Greenlee believes him. He wonders what losing the baby will do to her and worries that Annie won't be able to be there for Emma. Kendall arrives and sees them holding hands. She steps away quickly. Jake comes in and sends Ryan to Annie for the sonogram. Kendall comes into the room and asks Greenlee what is going on! Greenlee says Annie could lose the baby but Kendall is hard-hearted and refuses to feel sympathy for her. Zach walks in and tells her to stop being mean and start supporting their friends!
In her hospital room, Ryan sits with Annie as the sonogram begins.
Annie Puts Her Plans In Motion!
Kendall goes to Cambias to find out what Zach and Ryan did after leaving Erica's. He won't say and continues to be very cold to her. "I'm done with the Kendall Code!" Zach exclaims when Kendall says he has to forgive and forget. Ryan arrives. Once again Kendall tries to find out what is going on but Zach won't say. Ryan says he agreed to work for Cambias to clean up Josh's mess. Kendall is relieved. She tries talking to Zach but he won't speak to her. She leaves. Ryan says he isn't sure how to do this job but Zach has faith in him. Ryan asks what is going on with Kendall; Zach says he is tired of Kendall ignoring their marriage and family in favor of other people. Ryan says he has left Annie and told her things are over so there will be two less people for Kendall to focus on. A courier calls with a package and Ryan has it delivered there. He brings up work and Zach tells him to go through the files and fire anyone who knew or could have known what was going on but didn't report it. The courier arrives - and slaps Ryan with a restraining order!
JR and Adam meet in the sitting room. JR is still worried about Colby but Adam insists she just had a bug. JR wonders what Adam knows and isn't sharing. Adam goes to the terrace; Petey walks up and says they have to make their partnership official. Adam says he won't pimp out Colby any longer. Petey says they could make beautiful madness together and leaves. Annie and Babe arrive home a while later. Babe and JR make dinner plans and invite her along but she says she just wants a night alone. She pretends to go to her room but when they go to the terrace, she hunts up Adam's key - and takes his gun! She hears Babe tell JR that Ryan could be dangerous; JR says Annie can handle herself. Adam nearly catches her but Annie covers. Adam goes to the terrace and listens to Babe telling JR how great Bella is doing so far. Adam tells her she is doing a great job and leaves. JR tells Babe that he is up to something. Adam catches Petey sneaking in the front door and tells him a Bella shipment will arrive next week. Petey is excited and nearly spills the beans to JR, who walks into the foyer. Petey runs upstairs to find Colby. JR asks Adam what he is up to. As they argue, Ryan arrives and demands to see Annie! Babe comes in and says Annie had every right to take out the restraining order; she tells Adam and JR about the bruises! Ryan says Annie is making it all up and demands to see Emma. He runs past JR up the stairs.
Kendall Defies Zach!
Kendall walks into Erica's suite as Josh takes an envelope of cash from the safe. She tells him to trust her to take care of things and keep Zach in line. Josh says Zach is crazy and turns on her, telling her that being her babysitter wasn't enough of a family connection for him. She nearly calls him a mistake but stops; Josh knows what she was going to say, though, and says he is the only family he needs. "The guy who shouldn't exist just wanted to go somewhere that no one knew him," Josh says. He says he stopped being a person and started being an accessory for the Kane's as soon as they found out about the un-abortion. He asks what she is going to do. She calls Ryan, who is about to go for a motorcycle ride, and asks for help. When he arrives, Kendall asks Ryan to help Josh disappear! Josh tells her to stop but she won't give in. Ryan says he can't do it and Josh goes off on a tangent about Kendall using Ryan to slow Josh down. Ryan says he needs help from Tad; Josh refuses. Kendall suggests Aidan and when Josh tells her she isn't helping she says she could just leave him hanging in the wind.
Ryan and Kendall arrive at Zach's. Erica is still there. They say Josh is safe but Zach will never find him. Zach says they are making a huge mistake.
