Kendall goes to Ryan's penthouse. She tells Ryan about the wedding shooting. He calls the hospital but there is no word on Julia's condition. Upset, Kendall breaks down. Ryan brings up Greenlee and Kendall finally tells him about the one night stand. Ryan is shocked and on Greens' side. Kendall begs him to find Greenlee because she shouldn't be alone. Ryan isn't sure that's a great idea. Kendall thinks he is reluctant to go after Greens because he loves her more than he loves Annie!
A Visit From an Old Friend.
Tad and Jake show up at The Comeback for a drink to celebrate Jake's decision to stick around Pine Valley for awhile. Julia walks by Jake at the bar, chatting on a cell phone, working out details of a career move she's planning. Aidan shows up, in a foul mood, and he and Tad sit at a nearby table for a chat about babies. Tad is skeptical that Greenlee won't ever change her mind about having kids, and questions whether or not this is really about having a family or about a "measuring contest" Aidan's got going on with Ryan. Aidan insists this isn't about Ryan, but admits he's rethinking his and Greenlee's relationship. Jake joins them at the table and Tad offers up a toast to women. Aidan questions whether or not women are worth the trouble they put men through. But just as he's convinced that they're not, he jumps up to "get another pitcher of beer." Instead, he surreptitiously gives Greenlee a call but gets her voice mail and hangs up.
Vasectomy? What Vasectomy?
At home, Annie is miserable, having just overheard Ryan tell Kendall that he's not in love with Annie. She falls to the chair, buries her face in her hands and cries. Emma interrupts, wondering why mommy is crying. Annie sucks it up and tries to pass it off like she's not crying, telling Emma that she had a bad dream is all. Ryan comes home and it's a friendly but uncomfortable greeting between the two of them. Annie puts on her happy face, but doesn't tell Ryan the news that his vasectomy was never performed. Instead, she gets some wine to celebrate his new memories. But Ryan's not feeling so celebratory. He wants to watch a movie, and holds off Annie, who's got love-making on her mind. She sits on the floor next to him, and he moves, putting a coffee table between the two of them. Soon, uncomfortable, Ryan wants to check on Emma, leaving Annie by herself. Alone, Annie pulls out the class action lawsuit papers and rips them up. "You don't need to know about this. You just need to give me another amazing gift," she says.
He Loves Her Not.
Ryan is at Fusion, telling Kendall about his recent memory of making love to Annie. He tries to skirt the subject and his uneasy feelings, but she makes him talk. "Ryan, that's great! That's amazing!" Kendall exclaims when she hears what he's remembered, but Ryan's not sharing in the joy. He may remember Annie. He may remember making love to her. But he doesn't remember being in love with her. Meanwhile, Annie is over the moon, talking to Emma about how wonderful her life with Ryan will be, but she's interrupted when a man named Michael Harris shows up at the door. He has news that there's a class action lawsuit being filed against the clinic where Ryan's vasectomy was performed. He tells her that Ryan's surgery was never, in fact, actually performed. Annie's thrilled and rushes to Fusion to break the good news to Ryan, but when she gets off the elevator, she overhears Ryan and Kendall talking about his feelings for Annie and questioning whether or not they were ever real.
Greenlee is at Confusion, grilling Aidan about family planning. "Am I enough?" she asks. "Kids. You want them," she says. "I want children," Aidan admits. But, he adds, he doesn't care how they get them - adoption, surrogacy, whatever. But, Greenlee says, she doesn't want to have children. Aidan suggests that she just wait for the biological clock to start ticking, but she doesn't think it ever will. He asks if she'll ever change her mind and she says no, but there's still time for him to change his before the wedding. Aidan gets his feelings hurt because she wanted a baby so badly with Ryan, but won't have one with him. She claims she never really wanted a family; she only wanted a baby to help heal Ryan. But Aidan's still bitter about it, the way she's shutting him down when she was on board the baby train so eagerly for Ryan. He walks out on her, leaving her alone at Confusion.
Everybody Has A Secret...
Ryan pulls away from Annie at the stables. She wonders what is going on. "I remember you," he says! He describes the night they made love in the stables but Annie is afraid to believe him. He has another memory flash, this time of her falling off the saddle and into the water trough. Annie realizes he is really recovering some memories of her. Ryan asks what finally convinced her that their love was perfect. She says it took some time but she finally just gave in. He wants to remember more but the flashes stop. He kisses her and they make love. After, Ryan thinks about their relationship.
You Didn't Tell Me I Could Still Feel!
Ryan picks up Annie and takes her to the stables where he has a champagne picnic set up. He says this is to make up for missing their anniversary. Admitting he still doesn't remember, he says he wants to recapture their love. Annie can't take it and says she saw him at ConFusion with Greens! He says she should have come over but Annie angrily says she couldn't. She goes off on a tangent about Greenlee's needs being more important to Ryan than her needs and then says Greenlee doesn't care who she is with - as long as it is a man with broad shoulders! Ryan tries to calm her down but Annie won't listen. He asks her to start over but she can't do that. "You took the life I wanted," she exclaims and storms out. Ryan catches up to her and when he grabs her arms, he has a memory flash - of Annie!
Still Keeping Secrets!
Greenlee, Kendall, Zach and Ryan are stunned when Aidan walks through the door. He says Jake is okay and back in Pine Valley, too, but when he begins talking about what happened after, Greens cuts him off. She doesn't want the details. Zach thanks Aidan for bringing Jake home safely. Aidan grabs Greenlee, twirls her around and kisses her. He apologizes for losing the watch but she doesn't care. From outside the office, Kendall, Ryan and Zach peek in. She takes Zach aside, thanking him for working so hard to bring Aidan back. "I love you," she says, hugging him. Ryan returns to Aidan and Greenlee. Greens suggests a celebration at ConFusion and they all leave.
At ConFusion, Greenlee and Kendall make a toast to their men and then Greenlee goes back to Aidan. Kendall chats with Ryan for a while. He says he wants the kind of love that Greenlee and Aidan have; she says he already has it - with Annie! Amanda walks in with Annie and encourages her to go after Ryan. Seeing him alone at the bar, though, Annie hesitates. Zach and Kendall leave; Aidan is distracted with a phone call and Greens goes to Ryan. She finally begins to break down from the relief that Aidan is safe. He holds her. Annie sees them and turns away! Aidan returns and holds Greenlee.
Dead Wrong!
Kendall brings coffee to Zach, Ryan and Greenlee. She and Greens are stunned that Jake is the man Aidan was sent to rescue; they haven't heard anything since the explosion hours before. Tad arrives just as Ryan gets the feed back. Kendall asks if they can see Aidan or Jake, startling Tad. Looking at the feed, all they see are burned walls. Zach and Ryan tell him everything. Zach says he was trying to protect the Martin's and assures Tad that Jamie wasn't involved in the crisis. Ryan pans the camera and they see Aidan's watch! Zach begins to doubt his motivations for sending him but she insists he did the right thing. Tad disagrees and says Zach's hatred for Aidan cost Jake his life! He leaves to break the news of Jake's death to Joe and Ruth. In the other room, Greens tells Ryan Aidan isn't dead. Kendall and Zach return; Greenlee tells them about falling in love with Aidan. "I said I love you, too," Aidan says from the door!
