At the chapel, Ryan searches through the smoke, calling for Emma. He comes out with her wrapped in his arms! Emma coughs; Ryan and Annie hug her. She keeps coughing; the paramedics arrive. Jesse tells Ryan they have to talk – now! He says Annie has to be part of this but Ryan won't listen to him. Annie takes Ryan's hand and thanks him for saving Emma.
At the clinic, Aidan is about to tell Greenlee that he was in on the plot but then his pressure drops and he grunts in pain. Greenlee calls for Jake and he says Aidan may not make it! They rush him into surgery. Ryan and Annie arrive with Emma. The police try to arrest them but Ryan fights the cops off! Jesse defends Ryan and tells the cops that he'll keep an eye on things. Greenlee takes Ryan aside and tells him her feelings about Aidan's involvement; she says he wanted to tell her something but then passed out. Then, she tells him about the phone call. He says Jesse is suspicious of Annie, too. Jake returns and says things don't look good. He says Aidan's only chance is back in Pine Valley so they had to stop the surgery. Annie returns and says Emma is doing well. Ryan tells her about Aidan's injuries. Jesse returns with the chief of police and tells Ryan and Annie that they are being extradited back to the States as witnesses in a kidnapping and murder plot. He tells Ryan he owes the police department a $10,000 donation. Ryan tells Greenlee that Aidan will be fine. Greenlee says they can't let Annie get away with this and Ryan swears she won't. Annie comes back with Emma and Ryan hugs her. He reaches out to take Annie's hand as Greenlee watches; they walk away.
That's My Daughter!
Ryan tells Annie he will go find Emma; he says she needs to stay put but she refuses. He says this is the only way he will know she is safe. She says she can help and he asks what she is keeping from him – and Jesse! She swears she doesn't know anything more. "I know Di better than you," she says and convinces him to take her along. Ryan unlocks the door with the pilfered key and they run.
Ryan and Annie arrive at the hotel and hear Jesse leading an officer away; Ryan and Annie begin searching the room. Annie freaks out. He finds a rosary – and Jesse walks in! He says they have 20 minutes before the guard returns and offers to help. Ryan shows them the rosary but then the officer walks in! Ryan grabs his gun and demands to know where all of the local chapels and churches are! The cop says there is a chapel nearby and agrees to show them the place.
Emma, meanwhile, is alone and sleeping in a chapel. She wakes and calls for Di but no one answers. She walks around, looking for a way out but the chapel doors are locked up tight. Emma remembers Di telling her she would be back soon and wonders where she is. She sees a window. She climbs up a railing but knocks over a candle and a fire starts. Ryan, Annie and Jesse arrive as smoke pours out of the building. Emma calls out to them. Ryan breaks in the door but Jesse holds Annie outside the chapel.
Moving Plans!
At the hotel, Ryan, Greenlee and Aidan rush into the room and find Di on the ground! Annie says Di took Emma; Ryan rushes to her side and tries to get Di talking. She tells Ryan to ask Annie where Emma is; Annie says she was trying to get Di to tell her the truth when the gun went off. She says she saw Di in the lobby and followed her to the room. Aidan and Greenlee question her. Annie tells them that Di is the only one who knows where Emma is. Aidan looks back, sees Di point the gun and pushes Greenlee out of the way. Di shoots and Aidan is hit! Di collapses and Ryan says she is dead. He and Greenlee try to save Aidan but Annie is frozen. Just then Jesse and several police officers burst into the room. He tries to talk to Greenlee but Annie gets nervous and tells him to rest. The paramedics give Aidan more medications. Two officers question Ryan but when he explains that Di was the bad guy, they don't believe him. Greenlee tries to go with Aidan but the officers stop her. "Not until you are interrogated," the officer says. Ryan goes nuts, yelling at the officers but Jesse shuts him up, saying he'll handle it.
Ryan, Annie and Greenlee are jailed at the police station. Jesse questions them, specifically Annie's motives. Ryan says Annie was desperate. Jesse returns to the officer at the desk and Greenlee asks why Ryan didn't tell Jesse his suspicions. Annie, meanwhile, is being interrogated; she tells the man about following Di and the shooting. "This is a person I thought was my friend. How could she take my daughter?" Annie says, leaving out her part in the kidnapping. Nearing hysteria, Annie begs the man to find Emma. Jesse goes through Di's bag but doesn't find anything; Greenlee tries to convince Ryan to tell Jesse about Annie. Ryan says he doesn't know anything and reminds Greenlee that Di has a criminal past – not Annie. Annie is brought back to the cell. Jesse comes over and says there is no evidence that might tell them where Emma is. An officer comes by to tell them Aidan is in grave danger. Greenlee begs them to let her go to Aidan; they release her but not Ryan or Annie. Jesse leads Greens away. Annie yells at the officer, who sits down casually. She turns to Ryan and cries about Emma. She gets one of the men to open the door and runs for it; Ryan runs, too, but they are both caught. They are locked back up but Ryan pulls a set of cell keys from his pocket!
But, I Love You!
In the jungle, Ryan gets even more upset when the pilot can't fix the plane right away. Annie tries to keep him calm and starts talking about Emma. She says the little girl will need stability and they should keep things as normal as possible. Ryan says Emma will need therapy; Annie insists she will just need love and security. Ryan says he will find the man responsible and make him pay. The pilot returns and says the plane is ready.
Ryan and Annie get to Pine Cay and Annie leads him to the room; Ryan says she didn't mention a room number before. She says it doesn't matter. Ryan kicks in the door. No one is there! Annie is certain they are in the right place but Ryan says the kidnapper is playing them. She says he needs to rest but Ryan refuses. She pushes him and he lies down. Annie lies with him for a while and when she is sure he is asleep, she leaves the room. Ryan listens and then follows but loses her. He finds Aidan and Greenlee and they decide to go after Annie. He and Greenlee go one way and Aidan goes in another. They meet up a few minutes later; Aidan says an American woman checked into room 605 within the last hour; Ryan says it isn't Annie because she was with him. Greenlee wonders who checked in.
Annie goes to another room and calls for Emma. Di comes out of another room and says Emma couldn't make the trip – and she knows all about Annie's plans! "You picked the wrong girl and I won't go down for you," she says and pulls a gun on Annie! Annie asks where Emma is but Di won't tell her. They struggle for the gun and it goes off. In the hall, Ryan, Greenlee and Aidan hear the shot.
