You Can Call Me Daddy!

Joe brings Tad into the chapel. Kathy arrives with Opal. Joe and Opal leave them alone. Tad helps Kathy pray for Julia; in the prayer, Tad thanks Julia for taking great care of Kathy and says he misses her. "I love you, Aunt Julia and I'm being good," Kathy says. After the prayer, Tad leads Kathy to the chairs. Tad talks about the day they first met and says they liked each other because they have a connection. He talks a little more about their past and then tells her about losing his daughter 6 years ago. "That little girl. . .you were right," he says, "I'm your father." Kathy asks who she'll live with and Tad says she'll live with him. She'll be Jenny's big sister and JR and Jamie's little sister and little A's aunt. Tad says she can call him daddy now and gets a little weepy. They hug. Opal and Joe return and are introduced to Kathy as her grandparents. Opal invites Kathy on a park outing so Tad can rest. When they are gone, Tad tells Joe how surreal this has felt. Joe tells him he needs to rest but Tad stays in the chapel to talk to Dixie. "Wherever you are, I hope you can hear me. We did it," he says. Tad thanks Dixie for helping them find Kate and wishes she was still with him. Dix appears and touches his face. Tad can see her!

I Still Hate Your Guts!

Joe and Jake have a drink together at Fusion. Joe admits how worried he was for Tad and how grateful he is that Jake is back. He asks him to come by the house for dinner but Jake turns him down. He says he has to return to Africa as soon as possible. Zach walks up and says he won't be returning to Africa - at least not as a Cambias employee! "If you go back to Africa, you're dead," he says! Zach explains about the rebel leader's death and the bounty now on Jake's head. That doesn't change Jake's mind. Joe angrily tells Jake to listen but Jake won't. Zach takes Jake aside to ask about Caroline but Jake won't talk about her either. In fact, he says his family doesn't need to know anything about Africa - or Caroline! Jake goes back to Joe, apologizes but says he can't stay away from Africa. He finally admits to Joe that he isn't with Caroline any longer. Joe leaves as Greenlee walks in. Jake tries to brush her off but Greens won't take no for an answer and sits down with him.

Visitation Day...

At the hospital, Tad asks Krystal to find Adam. She leaves as Joe and Opal arrive, telling Tad that Kathy is with Ruth for now. He brings up Julia, wondering how to tell Kathy the truth. Opal and Joe offer to talk to her but Tad insists he has to do it. Opal can't stop thinking about Rob and blames herself for not seeing the truth about him. Tad says it isn't her fault.

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished!

Tad opens his eyes and stares at Adam. Krystal rushes in, sees he is awake and runs for the waiting room. She tells the family Tad is awake; Joe, Jake and Angie rush to his room. Babe tells JR she'll watch Kathy and he goes as well. Kathy notices Opal crying and asks what is wrong. Opal says she is just thankful. Back in his room, Tad asks Adam if it is true and he says yes. Jake and Jesse want Adam out of the room but Krystal stops them. Kathy gets away from Babe and comes in. Krystal places her on the bed so she can see Tad. Joe notices Tad is tired and asks everyone to leave so they can check him over. JR tries to pull Adam away but Tad asks him to stay, worrying Krystal even more. Joe and Angie stay for a while but soon Tad asks them to leave to. When he is alone with Adam, Adam says Kathy really is Kate. Tad wants proof.

Krystal returns to Tad's room and shows him the adoption certificate. He is stunned and asks where Adam found it. Adam says it was in the mansion but swears he doesn't know how it got there. Opal, Ruth, Joe, JR and Jake return. All are worried because Tad has suddenly gone pale. Adam offers to go but Tad tells him to stay and tell the family the good news. He hesitates and then says, "I found Kate." The family is stunned. Adam tells them that Kathy is Kate. Krystal brings up Adam's "deal" - that he'd give Tad Kate if Krystal would come back to him! - from several months back. He admits he has known for months. JR and Jake angrily confront Adam but Joe calms everyone down. Adam leaves. Krystal follows him, so do Opal, Ruth and Jake. JR stays with Tad and Joe. He asks what he should do now. Tad wants to talk to Julia. Joe, sadly, tells him about Julia's death. He is stunned. JR brings up Kathy, saying this is going to be great news for her; Tad says finding a father won't make it easier to lose a mother.

Jesse and Angie return to the waiting room, where Kathy is still coloring. Angie continues blaming herself, believing that Julia would still be alive if it wasn't for her wedding. They watch Opal, Ruth, Jake and Krystal follow Adam into the room. Ruth takes Kathy outside as Babe looks on curiously. Opal lights into Adam, accusing him of all sorts of things - primarily of trying to hurt Tad. Babe is stunned to learn Kathy is Kate. Adam defends himself and leaves. Krystal follows and asks why he did it. Adam says it was the right thing to do! JR walks in, angry, and tells off Adam. "We're done!" he exclaims, saying Adam waited too long to bring the truth about Kate to light. Adam defends himself, saying he was afraid of losing JR in the process. JR calls Tad his father and sadly walks away.

Desperate Times...

In the operating room, Joe tells Jake he doesn't have to assist with Tad's surgery; Jake says he wouldn't be anywhere else. Dixie appears next to Tad, telling him to hang on for Kate's sake. The operation begins; Jake finds many bleeding arteries. "He's bleeding out," Jake says, asking for more blood. Dixie returns and watches as Jake finally gets one artery closed. Angie stands with Joe, as Jake tries to save him. Tad begins losing even more blood. They finally get the bleeding stopped and the bullet out. Tad is taken to a recovery room. Jake sits with him, telling him not to give up now. When he is gone, Dixie comes to Tad, taking his hand. He wakes and sees her there! Tad mentions second chances and Dix says they can have another chance. She holds his hand close to her heart as Tad loses consciousness.

Across the hall, Joe gives Ruth, Greg, Cassandra and Jesse the same news. He says the next 24 hours are crucial.

The Waiting Game Begins...

At the hospital, a nurse begins CPR on Julia. Krystal can only watch as Joe says Julia didn't want surgery. Babe and JR arrive, worried about Tad. Krystal is startled to realize he was shot, too. Just then Frankie and Jake arrive with Tad on a gurney. One surgeon tries to keep Jake out of the OR but he insists on staying. Dixie appears and stands by Tad. Frankie goes to Krystal and fills her in on Tad's condition as Jesse and Angie arrive with Cassandra, Ruth, Opal and Greg in tow. Angie asks Frankie to care for Greg's wound; Krystal tells them that Julia is not doing well. Angie hurries off to find Jake and Tad. She gets to Julia's room first and tries to talk her back to life as the doctors shock her heart. Joe gives instructions for more drugs but Julia is already gone. Angie breaks down as they turn off the monitors and Joe halts CPR. Joe rages against Rob. In the hall, she tells him that Tad was shot, too. Annie arrives, eager to see Julia but Babe holds her back from going into the hospital room. In another treatment room, Frankie gives Greg some instructions on caring for his wound. Greg asks about Julia and Frankie tells him how Julia helped save his life. Frankie blames himself for Rob's actions. Greg says he couldn't have known how evil Rob was. Joe comes into the waiting room and tells everyone about Julia's death. No one can believe it. Joe hurries off to see about Tad. In his treatment room, Joe asks Jake for information. Jake says he is trying to stabilize Tad so they can operate but he's lost a lot of blood. Aidan arrives as Cass tells Frankie about Julia's death. Josh arrives and stands with Joe and Ruth. Jack is alone across the room. JR, Babe and Krystal are leaning on one another as they wait for news about Tad.

Zach calls the hospital and learns that Julia has died. Stunned, he tells Kendall and decides he has to call Maria. They go to the hospital; Zach talks to Joe about contacting Maria and learns that Julia asked Krystal to do it. Kendall sees Aidan at Julia's door and says how sorry she is. Ryan and Greenlee arrive; Jack fills them in. Greenlee sees Kendall and Aidan standing together. Annie walks up, sees Ryan with Greenlee and walks away quickly. Jack asks Ryan to give him a minute with Greenlee and then apologizes for telling her about Aidan and Kendall so abruptly. She says she is okay and asks Ryan to take her home. They leave together. Annie is sitting alone, crying, when she sees a brochure about fertility problems. Jake finally returns to the waiting room. He tells Joe that Tad still isn't stabilized but they can't wait any longer for surgery. Joe looks over the charts and hugs Jake. Krystal asks to see Tad first and Jake takes her into the room. JR realizes no one has called Jamie. Just then Adam arrives and asks what he can do. In the treatment room, Krystal begs Tad to hold on. She kisses him and says, "I love you." Krystal returns and sees Adam; she asks about Kathy. Adam sees Dixie is right behind her.
