Jake and Amanda return to the Martin household. They are all relieved that he didn't shoot anyone. Amanda breaks the news that she will be moving in with David. Tad can't believe she would live with him. Amanda stresses that it's best to let David think he's winning. Krystal warns that she thought she was in control when she was with David too! Amanda turns to Jake and says she's not scared of David, not when she has him! They'll keep fighting until they're together again. Jake asks Liza to accompany them to Wildwind to make sure that David keeps his word.
JR arrives at Tad's house, where Tad and Krystal are in the living room. JR says he's had a hard couple of days and it's all capped off by a fight with his father! Tad asks Krystal to leave the room, but JR stops her, saying she needs to hear this! JR tells Krystal that if anything were to happen to him, he would want her to raise Little Adam - his worst fear is that his son might end up with his father and his crazy wife! Krystal embraces him, and thanks him for trusting her with his son. Krystal leaves the room, and Tad asks what happened to fighting? JR says he's just being realistic. Tad promises that he will also be there for Little Adam - the same way he's there for him.
Amanda Agrees To Live With David!
Amanda reads the newspaper headlines and recalls her conversation with David. Tad interrupts her daydream when he opens his door to her. She walks in and hugs him telling him that she doesn’t know what to do. She explains what David wants and he assures her that she did the right thing. Krystal joins them and tells them that David has always planned to take the baby. Krystal leaves and Tad reminds Amanda that Krystal has a lot of baggage but that doesn’t mean that the same thing will happen this time.
Liza tells Tad, Amanda and Jake that David is willing to negotiate. Amanda wants to talk to DA Willis but Liza says no. Jake says he wants to stick around. She suggests they all head to Tad’s and that she will meet them there.
Tad and Liza speak to the DA at the station. He suggests they cut a deal with David. He says to take any deal they are offered and run.
At Tad’s, he and Liza tell Marissa that Jake and Amanda are nowhere to be found. Krystal tells them that she can’t find them either. Marissa gives them the information about the contract. Krystal reminds them that this decision is Amanda and Jake’s.
Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures!
JR and Tad arrive for JR's first chemo treatment. The doctor explains the procedure. JR tears up and thanks Tad for sticking by him through this. Tad calls himself JR's wingman. Chemo soon begins and JR is told to focus on something that makes him happy - he thinks about Marissa! JR dozes off during the procedure, and when he awakens, Tad suggests that he tell Marissa about what's going on. JR says no, it would change their relationship. Tad says to keep her around in any case - she's worth fighting for!
In What Universe?!
Jake, David, Tad, Taylor, and Jesse discuss the Baby Trevor situation in the police station. Jake wants Jesse to write it off as a misunderstanding. David explodes, and lists off the criminal charges that should be leveled against them! Jake hollers that the only danger the baby was ever in was from David! Tad yells that David held Liza at gunpoint! David tells them to look past the bloody fangs and see that he is a human being - he mourned the death of his son! Things heat up until Jake and Tad get physical with David. They are handcuffed as Amanda and Angie emerge with the baby. David tells her to give the baby to Daddy. Amanda whimpers as Jesse orders Natalia to take the baby. Jesse says he'll keep Jake overnight. David throws his hands up and asks in what universe aren't these crimes?! Jesse tells David to go home for now, the baby will be put into foster care. David leaves, and Jake is taken away. Amanda begs Jesse to let the baby stay with her. As the baby cries in the other room, Angie announces she's had enough - she ushers Amanda into the room to be with her baby! Tad and Taylor offer to take Trevor, but Jesse says David will never agree to that. He points out that David is right in this situation! As Natalia takes the baby away from Amanda again, Jesse says he wishes there was more he could do. Angie says, "There is!"
No Guarantees!
Taylor arrives at Tad's house. They discuss her stakeout of the alley behind the church - she has no clue who took the baby. Tad remarks that his head hurts, and he feels helpless. He explains that when things go wrong he has this blender that sits in his forehead - he asks her to distract him. She massages his temples and gives him a kiss. They embrace.
JR shows up at Tad's house as he and Taylor are watching a Spanish telenovela. Tad asks Taylor to excuse them. Taylor says goodbye and Tad sends Little Adam out to the backyard. JR says, "It's not good news." He describes how he went to tell Adam about the cancer and he accused him of drinking and threatened to take his son away. JR wants Tad to promise to look after Little Adam if he dies. Tad refuses - he doesn't believe he's going to die - he doesn't want him to think that way! Tad urges him to waste no time in getting into treatment and fighting this. Tad tells JR he loves him, as JR leaves the house tearfully.
