Tad runs into David and asks about Krystal; David gives him a hard time about leaving Krystal home alone. He says Krystal had an anxiety attack – and it's all Tad's fault! Tad gets angry and walks out but David keeps talking about Krystal – and all of Tad's women – running to him for help!
Is Brot Alive?
At the VA hospital, Tad sees the strange man at the payphone and corners him. He admits he is the one who hired him to find out about Taylor but he won't tell Tad his name. He says he was worried about her but now knows she is okay. Tad says Taylor is far from okay! He tells the man about her accident. The man calls himself Sweeney and tells Tad that he cannot tell her about him – ever! Tad warns him that Taylor is in bad shape and needs all the friends she can get but he just walks away.
Frankie runs into Jesse at the hospital. Jesse thanks Frankie for reaching out to Natalia; Frankie says Randi did that. Jesse tells him about Rebecca's seizure and apologizes for the mistakes he made. He asks how long Frankie is going to be mad at him. Tad arrives and tells Frankie that the man at the VA hospital was named Sweeney. Frankie shows him pictures from their unit but Tad says that Sweeney isn't the Sweeney he met. Frankie opens another file and Tad sees the man who hired him. "That's Brot. That's impossible," Frankie says!
Manipulations Galore!
Tad arrives at the hospital and asks Frankie about any friends he might have known at the Bethesda Veterans Hospital. He tells Frankie about the mystery man and Frankie gets nervous. He says one of their friends, Tim Richardson, is at Bethesda but he wouldn't talk when Frankie went to visit. Tad leaves.
Tad arrives at the VA hospital but the doctors won't let him see Frankie's friend. They do let him sit in on a group meeting with veterans. He listens as the male and female soldiers talk about signing up for duty and serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Tad listens as nearly all of them say they didn't realize what was happening when they were first attacked because it was so surreal. They say coming home was hard; many of the soldiers faced alcohol and drug addiction because of their injuries and some fought depression because of the extent of their injuries. He hears something in the hall – it's the mystery man, calling Tad's cell phone!
Never Let Them See You're Upset!
Tad goes to Taylor's hospital room and finds her on the floor; he tries to help her but she pushes him away. She says she can handle this on her own. Jake walks in and is short with her; he says she doesn't have to be so independent and then walks out again. Taylor is shocked. Tad apologizes for Jake's shortness; Taylor says it doesn't matter. He sees how depressed she is and asks what is next. She says nothing.
Krystal and Tad arrive home. She is crying and Tad can't understand why, especially after Krystal tells him JR is staying in town. He says this is good news; Krystal says JR is staying for her and that is the wrong reason.
I Want To Bring My Daughter Back!
At home, Tad tells Krystal that the insurance came through on The Comeback. She isn't sure she wants to reopen and he says they can take their time. Tad checks his email and finds a message from the man who hired him to research Taylor. Krystal and Tad are both curious about the man but Krystal says he has to talk to Jake and Taylor before telling the stranger anything. JR and Little A arrive. "This is goodbye," JR says! Krystal hugs Little A and tells him to call her all the time and come back to visit; JR says they will visit and Krystal and Tad are welcome to visit them, too. Tad hugs JR and he leaves. Krystal breaks down in tears; Tad holds her. He says goodbyes are never easy but assures her and things will be fine.
Tad finds Jake at the hospital and asks about Taylor's prognosis. Jake says he doesn't know but that Taylor has given up. Jake thinks Tad is trying to butt into his life but Tad tells him about the emails and the strange man asking questions. Jake and Tad are both worried; Tad says they should talk to Taylor about this but Jake doesn't want to do that. Tad says the mystery man might be able to get through to Taylor!
Tad arrives home as his mystery contact calls. He asks about Taylor; Tad says he wants more information about the caller before he says more about Taylor and the man hangs up!
