Zach and Kendall take Emma to the courthouse. Emma runs up to her mother when she sees her standing there. They explain to Emma that she can’t go home right now, but hopefully soon after they speak to the judge. Kendall takes Emma off to keep her busy coloring while the hearing takes place. Annie tells Zach that Emma needs her mother and should be with her. Zach stresses to her that Emma needs stability. Annie is insulted and wants to know what that is supposed to mean. He confesses that he was in the doctor’s office and knows that she killed her brother. She accuses him of being like everyone-else and spying on her. He sits her down and tells her that she did the right thing and that the world is better off without her brother in it. He wants to know who else she has told this too. She panics when Zach tells her that the doctor is going to testify against her. He tells her that the only way to prevent it is for her to go and tell the judge that Emma needs to be with Ryan.
It’s time for the hearing to begin. Annie thinks about what Zach has said to do, but fears that she can’t trust him either and has no assurance that he will keep her secret. Annie stands up and announces that she has something to say. She tells the Judge that there are things going on in her life right now that will prevent her from providing Emma from having a stable home environment. She cries and says that Emma will be better off living with her father. Doctor Price follows her out of the courtroom and congratulates her for doing the right thing. Ryan and Kendal hang around and can’t believe that she did this. Emma and Ryan have a reunion as Annie looks on. Annie comes over and informs Emma of the new living arrangements. She kisses her daughter goodbye before leaving. Kendall puts it all together that Zach was working on Annie today. Greenlee shows up and congratulates them on how it all worked out. Kendall notices Annie getting upset and tries to make her understand that Ryan will take good care of Emma. Annie rushes over and wants to know if Greenlee is after her daughter now!
You're Spying On Me!
The therapist says he has no problem testifying against Annie because she displayed very paranoid behavior. Zach is relieved! Annie calls and asks the therapist to see her immediately. The therapist agrees and then tells Zach. Annie arrives and tells the therapist about the noise; she says she was scared but was also angry that someone is after her but no one will believe her. Zach listens through a two-way mirror. Annie tells the therapist about nearly hitting JR. She says she isn't sorry because she was protecting herself. "It was just like that night," she says and tells the therapist that she killed Richie! She backtracks and says she just feels responsible for Richie's death but the therapist won't let it go. He says her guilt could be fueling everything else that is going on. She asks if he is going to tell the police. Before he can answer, Annie hears a ringing phone- Zach's! She goes to the mirror and stares. She demands to know who is behind the mirror and throws a paperweight at it, breaking the glass!
A Fresh Start!
Zach and Kendall are chatting about the boys when Ryan comes in, still getting dressed. Zach is thrown when Ryan says he spent the night because he felt Emma needed him. He leaves for work but Ryan stops him and says Annie doesn't deserve Emma. Zach continues out the door. Kendall tells Ryan not to worry about Zach because he was just overreacting. Ryan tells her to stop putting his needs ahead of Zach's. "I don't need to be told what my priorities are," she says. Ryan tells her to stop. Kendall says she knows that Zach is frustrated but that Zach needs to be more understanding of the connection between Ryan, Greenlee and her. She says Zach will get over this. "You're the one that needs to back off a little bit," Ryan says. "I can take care of myself." Jake calls with Emma's diagnosis - Strep Throat. Ryan gets ready to go. Kendall says she won't back off until Ryan decides to fight for Greenlee's love!
Annie calls Zach and says that since everyone thinks she is crazy she isn't going to see the therapist. Zach tries to change her mind.
Zach goes with Annie to the therapist's office and tells her to just tell the man the truth. She goes inside and meets with the doctor who invites her to talk to him. Annie talks about trying to save her marriage and admits she couldn't save that. She says she won't accept Ryan taking Emma and blames Ryan's custody issues on Kendall and Greenlee. She says they have brainwashed Ryan and have hired someone to stalk her. "They make it seem like I'm crazy so they can keep my daughter away from me forever," she says. The therapist says he is on her side. She leaves. Zach comes in and the therapist says he has plenty of evidence to take Emma away from Annie!
Pawn to Bishop Three!
Taylor pulls away from Jake. He follows her to the porch and she tells him that the vulnerable, sweet woman who cries isn't the real Taylor. It's her ghost! "When Brot died, she went with him," she says and leaves. Tad arrives and sees Jake. He goes to Krystal at the bar and asks what is going on. Krystal tells him about their dance and then Taylor leaving. Tad sits down with Jake and questions him about Taylor but Jake doesn't know much. He asks why Tad wants to know but before Tad can answer, Amanda texts and he leaves. Krystal asks what is going on. He finally admits he was hired by someone to investigate Taylor. Krystal says he has to tell Jake but Tad refuses; he says he can't tell Jake until he knows more himself.
Annie can't believe Zach has agreed to back her up. He says he is doing it for Emma. He says she has to prove she is sane at the custody hearing and the best way to do that is to be evaluated. "Make them believe," Zach says. Annie says she is afraid of what the psychiatrist will say because of her recent manipulations. Zach says his guy will help her out and that manipulations aren't a reason to take away her child.
Ryan stops by Zach's to see Emma. Over drinks, Zach questions Ryan about the custody hearing. Ryan says this is an open and shut case and he'll win. Annie returns! She says she was stopping by to tuck in Emma. Ryan goes on about what Emma deserves; Annie asks what she deserves. Ryan says she needs help so they can come up with a joint custody arrangement. Annie says custody hasn't been decided just yet. Kendall walks in and goes on the attack against Annie. "She isn't supposed to be here!" Kendall exclaims. Ryan sees the painting. Annie tries to look at it but Kendall and Ryan walk off, ignoring her. Annie turns to Zach and asks how he can stand them. He asks why she came back. Annie says she decided to see the psychiatrist so she can get Emma back. Zach gets the number for her. She asks if he'll come along and he agrees.
Dancing In The Dark...
At home, Kendall tells Zach that Emma has a fever. He says they should go to the hospital; Kendall calls Ryan.
