At Wildwind, Jonathan pulls Aidan off of Ava and tries to get "Lily" to leave with him! Ava gets nervous, wondering who this new guy is and Jonathan realizes she isn't the real Lily. Aidan and Di tell him about Ava's relationship to Lily. "I'm not Lily, I'm not special, so I'm just going to leave," she says. Di tries to stop her and some of her jewelry falls from Ava's bag! She tries to convince them that the jewelry was in the trash but Aiden doesn't buy it. Jonathan can't believe the differences in the two women and is stunned when Ava tells him about her life on the streets. Ava turns her anger on Di, wondering why she brought her to Wildwind in the first place. She becomes dizzy and Aidan and Di rush to care for her. Aidan brings her water and leads her to rest on the sofa. Aidan tells her a little more about Lily's life, making Ava a bit jealous. "Must be great having the whole world in your corner," she says. Aidan tells her that she has he and Di in her corner - as long as she stays on the straight and narrow. Di takes Jonathan out of the parlor, assuring him that Lily hasn't met Ava. They return with food for Ava. Lily arrives!
Labor Pains!
At Wildwind, Di invites a beaten Ava in to the home. Aidan arrives, angry that Di invited her there at all! "I thought we discussed this," he says, wondering why Di would bring Ava to the house when he expressly asked her not to. Di explains that she couldn't leave Ava in the hotel, not after the beating she received. She asks Ava to give them a few minutes alone. "We just throw her back?" she asks him, identifying more with Ava than with what he wants. "I want her out of this house - now!" he exclaims. Aidan goes after Ava, only to find her gone! "Are you happy now that the street kid is gone?" Di wonders. He finds her upstairs and drags Ava back downstairs, wondering what she stole from the house. Jonathan arrives as Aidan begins searching Ava!
Disagreements and Drama!
Di meets Aidan at the door, ushering him into the Wildwind sitting room to see Lily. She is hopeful that Aidan may have found Ava and disappointed that he doesn't have much news. Di wonders why Lily is so focused on finding Ava, a relative stranger. "I know my family loves me, but I wonder how it would feel to have a biological connection with someone," she says. Di assures Lily that Aidan will find Ava for her as Lily goes upstairs to think up more questions for Ava. With Lily out of the picture, Di asks why Aidan is keeping information about Ava from Lily. "She's nothing but trouble," Aidan says, telling Di that Ava dresses like a hooker and steals. Di relates to Ava, and defends the girl's actions. "You get tough out there because you have to," she says, believing that Lily has a right to know about Ava regardless of how she lives. Aidan turns the tables on Di, wondering if she is upset about Lily and Ava or upset because she never got the chance to know Dixie! Di admits that her lack of a relationship with Dixie is part of it, but, "Ava is on the same road that I was," she says. Aidan backs off, telling Di that he'll run everything by Jackson and let him make the final decision. He leaves to see Jack and Di heads out right behind him.
Ava Arrives!
At Wildwind, The residents ask Derek how Janet escaped from the mental institution. Questioning Amanda, Derek asks when she last saw her mother. Amanda tells him about the visit to the hospital and Jamie adds what he saw there, too. Derek gathers the police officers searching the grounds and they leave. The group disperses to tell others that Janet is on the loose, Jamie stays with Amanda. They discuss Janet’s demeanor when they saw her. Jamie wonders if Adam could be behind the disappearance and heads to the Chandler manse to find out. Jonathan arrives, telling Amanda that they will find Janet. Amanda asks him not to let anyone hurt her. Searching the grounds, Amanda calls for Janet. She doesn’t find her mother – but she does find Adam! He wants Amanda to help he and Janet get revenge on Krystal and Tad. Amanda tells him no! “Not even to help your mother?” Adam asks.
...And, He's Out!
At Wildwind, Annie tries on Ryan's ring as he returns. Without a chance to take it off, she hides her hand underneath the covers. Annie makes a decision and tells him to close his eyes. Before she can say anything, Emma interrupts. Annie invites her into bed for a final story before bed. She tells Emma the story of how Sir Ryanovich unlocked Queen Annabelle's heart - with oatmeal! She pulls her hand from beneath the covers, showing Ryan that she is wearing his ring! "Ryan and I are getting married," Annie tells him and Emma. Excited, Ryan begins bouncing Emma on the bed and then sends her off to spread the word. Ryan kisses her and Annie begins to cry. Emma returns with Jonathan, Kathy, Julia and Jamie who are all excited at the news. Amanda, Di and Dell arrive and toast the newly engaged couple. The other residents leave Ryan and Annie alone to celebrate their engagement. They wake the next morning, blissfully happy. Outside on the terrace, the other Wildwind residents are enjoying breakfast when Derek arrives with a warrant to search the grounds. Janet has escaped from the mental institution!
Love Is In The Air
At Wildwind, Annie turns from Ryan, telling him to leave her alone and refusing to look at him! He finally leaves and from outside the door, Ryan begs to be let back inside. Annie doesn't budge, though and asks him to get Julia! Downstairs, Julia is preparing for a board meeting at the hospital as Amanda, Del, Di and the others prepare for a game of poker. Ryan comes in, pulling Julia away. He asks her to go upstairs to Annie. Jonathan comes over, asking what happened with Annie. "I blew it and I don't know how," Ryan says. Di comes over, telling Ryan that Annie needs the total package and Del, Jamie and Amanda wonder what's up. Telling them that Annie booted Ryan out, they come up with romantic alternatives to the dusty-stable proposal. Back upstairs, Annie lets Julia in asking, "Is this what I think it is?" Julia takes her fever and assures her its official - she has chicken pox! When Julia prepares to leave, Annie gives her one more request - send Ryan home! Julia comes back, asking who has had chicken pox and Ryan realizes the truth. He heads back upstairs and when Annie still won't let him in, he picks the lock and goes in anyway! Annie hides her face under the comforter as Ryan talks to her. He reaches for the comforter and pulls it away from her so he can see her face. He kisses her! The poker game gets underway in the downstairs parlor and the group tries to get Julia away from her work, but they can't. Lily arrives, asking Aidan if he'll help her with a blackmail scheme against Barbara! "I want Barbara to leave right now," she says, upset that Barbara's appearance has upset the balance of her home. Aidan declines, and Lily begins to think of other options. Game interrupted, the players have all turned to other pursuits. Jamie tries to distract Julia, but she is focused on work. Amanda brings Jonathan a drink to Jonathan, realizing there are still feelings between Jonathan and Lily. Amanda is understanding about Lily and the fact that he is going to leave ConFusion. She deals the cards and the two play another game.
Tensions Mount in P.V.
At Fusion, Kendall tells Annie that turning down Ryan's "farce" of a proposal is the smartest thing she has ever done. Annie is livid at Kendall's insinuation but when she finds out that Kendall is pregnant it takes a little of her anger away. Still, she can't believe that Kendall is obsessing over Ryan! Kendall doesn't see it as obsessing, she sees it as caring for the father of her son and wanting the best second home for Spike. Annie marrying Ryan wouldn't create a happy home, she explains, because Ryan doesn't love her the way she loves him. Annie goes on the attack, telling Kendall that the reason she won't hire her is because of Ryan, not because she isn't qualified. Kendall surprises her by hiring her, anyway. Di comes in, welcoming Annie and getting the new hire paperwork going. Kendall throws a little fit when they leave and Zach catches her. When he asks what is wrong, Kendall tells him about the confrontation with Annie and her hiring the other woman. Zach smiles, telling Kendall that Annie isn't the only one who thinks Kendall wants Ryan all to herself! He explains that he knows she doesn't want Ryan but that she does want to run his life. "Yes, okay, I want to run his life," she admits, telling him it is how she is built. He pulls her to him and they kiss. Erica arrives, stunned to hear them talking about their new baby!
In another part of the office, Annie throws her own tantrum with Di. Di tells her to change her mind then and say yes to Ryan! She paints a happy family picture between Annie and Ryan, but Annie can't picture that herself. "I'm not going to marry a man just to tick off Kendall," she says and leaves.
Adam Goes On The Attack!
At the Fusion offices, Kendall and Bianca get back to work. Di arrives, telling them it's time to bring Fusion back to life! With only the three of them, Kendall is worried that they won't be able to complete the fall launch. Zoe arrives, offering to help them out. Kendall isn't sure if Zoe should come on board, what with her rock-n-roll job, but Zoe is ready to work. Still hesitant, Kendall asks Bianca for a private meeting. Bianca can't believe it when Kendall says she is worried that Binks might be falling for Zoe! Binks tells Kendall she wants Zoe to work with them because they need help - no other reason! "This is ridiculous," she says but when Kendall tells her Zoe was glowing just like she was, Bianca begins to question her own thoughts. Binks tells Kendall to stay out of her life, but Kendall won't let things drop. When Kendall tells her Zoe doesn't fit in, Bianca becomes angry and threatens to quit! Seeing that Bianca is serious, Kendall gives in. Josh arrives, telling Zoe and Di that he is there to help with the launch. He asks if Di has heard from Babe; she hasn't. Josh then turns to Zoe, wondering why she let Erica into the apartment. Zoe tells him to give Erica a break, she would give anything if her mother cared for her as much as Erica cares for Josh! Kendall and Bianca come out of their meeting, telling Zoe that she is hired! Binks and Zoe begin working as a reporter arrives, telling them about Babe and Krystal's arrest! Bianca and Josh hurry away. Annie arrives a few minutes later, offers her resume and asks for a job. "You need marketing people and I'm qualified," she says. Kendall asks about her wedding plans and if that will interfere but Annie tells her there isn't going to be a wedding! Surprised, Kendall hugs her.
A Proposal, An Answer And A Response
At Wildwind, Annie is dressed up in old sweats and with cleaning gear. Julia and Di give her a hard time, wondering if she is trying to make Ryan change his mind about proposing. "I can't jump to "M" before "L"," Annie says, explaining why she didn't say yes right away. She believes that Ryan isn't really in love with her! Di defends Ryan, saying that she hasn't told Aidan she is in love with him yet, either, but that doesn't mean that she isn't in love. Julia and Di begin pre-planning the wedding, but Annie asks them to stop. "Sometimes what we think we want we don’t want," she says. Annie explains to her friends that she doesn't want drama in her life. She wants a simple life and isn't sure that Ryan will be ultimately happy with her because she doesn't make him crazy enough! Di and Julia interrupt her, not seeing the problems that Annie is seeing. Ryan arrives and asks Annie to go to New York with him, if she doesn't mind traveling with an unemployed person! Annie doesn't care that he is unemployed and when he calls her "crazy", she kisses him, telling him that is the nicest thing he has ever said to her! Ryan has no idea what she is taking about, but thinking she is opening up to him, he proposes - again!
It's Over!
At Wildwind, Jamie calls Julia to tell her they are coming home - everything is fine! Emma, sitting with Annie, is excited that she will see Ryan again. Kathy is just as excited that her daddy, Tad, is headed home. Julia takes Kathy in her arms, trying to explain that Tad is her friend - not her father! Broadway performers Josh Strickland and Ashley Brown arrive. Ryan sent them to pick up the kids and take them to a matinee! Alone again, Di and Julia sing Ryan's praises to Annie. Julia asks about Jonathan, but he is nowhere to be found. Annie leaves and finds Jonathan at the cemetary. He can't control his feelings and doesn't know how to react to the news of the Slayer's capture. Annie comforts Jonathan, telling him that whatever he feels is okay. Turning to her, Jonathan tells her that without her help after Erin's death he would have lost it again. Touched, Annie offers her friendship to him. Jonathan tells her she would make a better sister-in-law but Annie balks at the thought. Back at Wildwind, Aidan and Jamie arrive as Annie brings Jonathan back to the house. A few minutes later, Ryan arrives and pulls Annie outside to talk. He gets down on one knee - and proposes!
