Adam and Dixie are at the bedside of JR, and he's trying to say something. It's…"Babe. I want Babe."
Adam tells JR that "he's on it" and later admits to Dixie that he wants Babe out of Pine Valley. Dixie urges him not to separate Little A from his mother.
Dixie returns to JR's bedside, and he tells her he's sorry about "no Kate" and that he "came back" because Tad told him his mother needed him.
Tad comes to the hospital to let Dixie know that David's left town. She confirms that he told JR to come back for her—and thanks him. He assures her that he's not giving up on finding Kate. She thanks him for everything.
Back at JR's bedside, Tad comforts JR, who is anguished over what he's done. Is Tad ok about Kate? He's not, says Tad, but he's going to find her.
Dixie is walking through the hospital parking lot when David comes out of the shadows. He tells her he was "disgusted" by her interactions with Tad. She tells him he's sick and evil. Maybe so, but she can still help Tad get his little girl. From Krystal, who's carrying Tad's baby.
At home, Babe asks Krystal how she could have made so many mistakes. A lot of people have walked in the same shoes, counsels Krystal. She brings Little A out and Babe and her son play happily, and Krystal tells her that "all is not lost." Krystal says she is in no position to "throw stones." She's guilty of the exact same thing!
She sits down next to Babe and tells her that she's in no position to criticize Babe. "You're not the only who broke her vows," says Krystal. "This child I'm carrying…it's Tad's." Krystal tells Babe not to beat up on herself—she's also guilty of violating her vows.
Adam arrives home and presents Babe with a court order giving him temporary custody of Little A and ordering her to move out before JR returns home. He claims he's acting on JR's wishes—but Babe tells him she's having none of it. Krystal tells Adam not to go up against her on this. There's no way she's going to allow him to take Little A away from his mother!
If he values their marriage, says Krystal, don't do this. If Babe goes, she'll go too, along with their baby. Adam says he won't let her do that.
JR heart rate and blood pressure is unpredictable, and Jeff is trying to save him. Adam is anguished and accuses Babe and Josh of being the cause of all this. He accuses Tad of "going over" to Josh's side. Babe thinks perhaps Adam was right. Did seeing her effect JR?
Adam tells her to go home, insisting that her presence is detrimental to JR's recovery. Jeff comes out to announce that JR is stabilized.
Palmer shows up and announces that he's calling a hospital board meeting to discuss banning Babe from the hospital, in order to protect "the patient."
Tad is at JR's bedside, urging him to fight on—for Dixie's sake. When Dixie is informed of JR's problems, she rushes to his bedside to support him.
Adam is still keeping vigil at the hospital, and Krystal refuses to go home, despite his suggestion she do so. She's afraid he'll do something to Babe. He tells her he loves her, but still believes Babe is responsible for JR's accident. His plan is to "reach out" to Babe to help heal their family.
Babe is sitting at JR's bedside, when a tearful Colby arrives with Jamie. Jamie tells Babe that she doesn't belong at JR's bedside, and Colby says she blames Babe for all that has happened. Adam arrives and tells Jamie and Colby to "stop bullying Babe."
Babe can't figure out why he's suddenly her defender. It's because she's "JR's only hope", explains Adam. They could only hurt each other as badly as they do unless they truly loved each other. And he doesn't want to lose or hurt Krystal.
Adam suggests to Babe that the best way for her to help JR is to leave Pine Valley, giving JR time and space to focus on his mental and physical recovery. He'll make his jet available to her—she can go anywhere in the world she wants. Babe doesn't want to leave him, but Adam promises it's only temporary. Oh, and she'll have to leave Little A as well, mentions Adam.
Amanda arrives to offer support to Babe, and
suddenly Babe realizes that Adam is playing her, and announces there's no way she's leaving JR or Pine Valley. If JR wants her to leave, she wants to hear it from his lips!
Babe is at JR's bedside, urging him to "come back to me." He opens his eyes and seems to recognize her—then suddenly goes into cardiac arrest. Babe yells for help.
Back at home, Colby and Krystal are having breakfast, and Colby accuses Krystal of being only interested in the Chandler money. It turns out that JR almost died because of her, claims Colby, since she was the one who told him about Josh and Babe. She wants Babe out of JR's life, insisting she's bad for JR. Why does she stir up so much trouble, asks Krystal? If she wants to make things better, ask. Colby admits she wants JR and Adam to "love her again."
Adam's already on the phone, asking her attorney to find the best child-custody attorney on the east coast. Krystal walks in, and begs him to not go after Babe. Adam is scared JR is going to die—but doesn't respond to her request.
An exultant David approaches Krystal, convinced Babe's marriage to JR is over. She calls David evil, and the source of all their problems.
Krystal tells Adam that she loves him—but that she also loves her daughter. JR is going to make it—and so will they.
Kendall gives Adam a "one time pass" on hitting Josh, but if he comes after Josh again, he's attacked all of the Kanes. He replies by saying he wants Babe out of his house and life.
At the hospital, Adam is barking out orders; Bianca is telling Jack what happened—and feeling guilt-stricken. Jack tells her not to feel that way—JR brought his troubles on himself. Bianca believes that JR, while self-destructive, would never have hurt her and Erica.
Krystal arrives to comfort Adam, who says "your daughter has destroyed my son!" Adam lashes out at Babe, and says she's responsible for what happened to JR, and that her expressions of grief are fake. He threatens to fight for custody of Little A. Krystal begs him to stop. She insists it was JR's alcoholism that caused the accident—not Babe. If he takes Little Adam away from Babe, then she will take his child away from him!
Adam can't believe she's serious—but she is. He means the world to her, but if he won't back off Babe, she has no choice. She walks away from Adam and goes to comfort Babe.
Dixie rushes into the waiting room, and enraged at Babe, accuses her of hurting JR. Babe just sits there, saying nothing. Dixie walks off, and collapses into tears. Is she being punished, and faced with losing all her children, she asks Tad? If Emma is Kate, then he will get her back. But she promised Annie, says Dixie. But he made not promises, says Tad.
Jamie and Di are in the waiting room, with Jamie sorry he didn't break JR's hands to stop him from drinking. Erica and Jeff rush in, and there's an awkward moment when Jack sees them.
Josh arrives at the hospital, walks directly to Babe and asks "How is JR?" Adam rushes towards him, and without a word, punches him in the face. A melee ensues, and then Adam punches Jeff.
Erica steps in to defend Josh and blame Babe for what happened. Dixie chimes in and says it's Babe's fault. Adam agrees. Finally Babe speaks, and says everyone is right—she's responsible for her ruined marriage. She wanders off, and Josh rushes after her, angrily warning everyone to stay away. When he finds Babe, sitting alone and crying, she tells him to go away, and that she never wants to see his face again.
Julia brings Jamie a cup of coffee, and he admits how angry he is with his brother for drinking again. He wants Josh out of all of their lives forever. And he wants Julia back.
Kendall goes over to comfort Bianca, thinking she's upset over Josh—but discovers she's feeling that she's weak. She stood up to JR, why couldn't she stand up and fight for Maggie?
Jack asks Erica if she is ready to move home. She claims she still has a lot to do with the show. Or is it Jeff Martin, asks Jack?
Bianca calls 911 about JR's jump; Erica and Josh are standing over his motionless body in the alley. He needs a doctor—so Josh begins to help him. He's bleeding out as the EMT's arrive—Josh insists he has to operate on JR right now—in the alley—or he will die! He performs emergency surgery, and then JR is rushed to the ER. The policBabe admits to Adam that she told JR about her Josh tryst. He's very angry and accuses her of ruining JR's life, and being motivated by money. He's getting angrier and angrier—when Jeff walks in, and tells him to shut up. Jeff is looking for Josh.
The police arrive to question Bianca and Erica.
Bianca is in a daze—how could this happen? Should she have let JR leave the room when he wanted to live? Erica tries to convince her that it's not her fault and that JR will no longer do damage to her family.
Erica is shaken by the fact that they could have lost Josh a second time, and Jeff comforts her.
Josh is back in his room, reliving the horrible events of that evening.
Adam and Babe see a blood-covered Josh, who tells them all that has happened. Josh tries to convince Babe that this demonstrates what JR is capable of—but she is unwilling to listen.
Adam is in JR's hospital room as they prep him for surgery. He tells JR how much they love him. Bianca runs into Babe and Adam there—he asks her what the hell she did to JR? She explains that she's sorry about what happened—but it's not her fault. Babe wants to know if JR threatened her and how this happened.
Di finally convinces Dixie to go back to sleep, and she does, but she is awakened by a phone call from Adam telling her about the accident.
Erica, Jeff and Bianca are happy about how well the New Beginnings party turned out, and that Lily is fine. Bianca leaves, and Erica tells him "Erica Kane is back…I guess the party's over."
"Not if you don't want it to be," replies Jeff. They sit together, and review the evening, and are about to kiss—when Adam walks in and accuses them and their family of depravity, and trashes Erica's mothering skill. Jeff tells Adam to shut up and take care of his son—JR is on a rampage!
Erica tells Adam that he's a curse on his children, and has "doomed them all"!
