At the Chandler manse, Adam turns around to see Dixie there. She says he has saved his soul; Adam doesn't care about his soul. He goes on and on about losing JR and Colby. Dixie brings up Krystal but Adam won't talk about her either. Dix says he has taken the hardest step and just needs to continue on the right path. Just then Krystal arrives. "Never give up hope," Dixie says and disappears. Adam tries to push her away but Krystal won't leave. She says she wanted to hate him. "But you came through for Tad and for Kathy," she says and tells him she heard him with Kathy at the hospital. She touches his face and says he helped her see the man she fell in love with! Adam is shocked. She says she still can't trust him, though, and that she does love Tad. Adam says they can be the way they once were but she won't listen. Krystal runs out. Adam hears Dixie, again, tell him to keep the faith.
Adam's Softer Side...
Colby returns to the mansion and confronts Adam. She calls him mean and horrible. Adam walks out.
Adam arrives at the hospital and sees Kathy run from Tad's room. Krystal follows her and so does he. Kathy won't talk to Krystal so Adam goes to her. He tells her how awful it was to lose his daughter and how bad he felt then. Finally, she says, "I want Tad." Krystal, who has been listening to everything Adam said, picks her up and returns her to Tad. Kathy hugs him and lays her head on his shoulder. Adam watches through the window. Krystal turns and smiles at him.
I Am The Queen!
Adam looks at the story on the computer and swears revenge. JR calls the PR team to get damage control started. The PR team decides to send over a media team; JR advises Adam to be calm, cool and lucid when the reporters arrive. Adam turns things back on JR, saying if he wouldn't have committed Adam none of this would be happening. A reporter calls and JR hangs up on him. Adam goes on and on about finding out who leaked the story; JR is more concerned with damage control. Adam calls Barry and tells him to find out who leaked the story.
I Still Hate Your Guts!
JR tells Adam to get out of Tad's room but Krystal intervenes, saying the men need to talk. She leads JR out as Adam tells Tad to let him have it. When Tad doesn't go on the attack, Adam tries to rile him up by saying he didn't deserve to find Kate because Tad stole Charlotte/Jenny from him. Tad still doesn't respond. Tad says Adam should trust his children and not try to turn them into Adam-Clones. Adam just keeps pushing, asking Tad how long he is going to keep coming after Adam's family. He goes on and on about Tad's sins - from keeping JR from Adam to keeping JR's child a secret to stealing Charlotte. Tad points out that all of Adam's children have practically run screaming from him before Tad ever stepped in, then he pulls back and tells Adam he wants to stop the fighting. Tad brings up Dixie and says he is glad she helped Adam do the right thing. "Thank you," Tad says and they shake hands. "But I still hate your guts." Adam smiles and walks out.
JR is at the mansion when Adam arrives. He says he won't forgive Adam but he will still work with him at Chandler. Adam says he is ready to take back the CEO reigns, angering JR. He says he won't let Adam take over! JR presses him about seeing Dixie and what will happen if and when she comes back. Adam says that isn't a problem. Just then Barry calls about a news article. The piece is about Adam's breakdown!
Visitation Day...
Erica is brought to the visitation room and is stunned to see Adam waiting. He says he needs a friend and apologizes for not helping her with the insider trading charges. Adam tells her about Kathy/Kate. Erica realizes Adam knew the truth for months before telling Tad. Adam defends his actions by blaming Tad for stealing Jenny from him and says now he has lost everything - his children and Krystal. Adam brings up Dixie and says he only did the right thing because she haunted him. Erica is shocked. When he goes on about being trapped, Erica sets him straight and points out that he still has freedom and can change his life. "You were good before, you can do it again," she says. Adam begins to feel better. He leaves. Erica calls Jack.
JR and Krystal are in Tad's room when Adam arrives.
No Good Deed Goes Unpunished!
Tad opens his eyes and stares at Adam. Krystal rushes in, sees he is awake and runs for the waiting room. She tells the family Tad is awake; Joe, Jake and Angie rush to his room. Babe tells JR she'll watch Kathy and he goes as well. Kathy notices Opal crying and asks what is wrong. Opal says she is just thankful. Back in his room, Tad asks Adam if it is true and he says yes. Jake and Jesse want Adam out of the room but Krystal stops them. Kathy gets away from Babe and comes in. Krystal places her on the bed so she can see Tad. Joe notices Tad is tired and asks everyone to leave so they can check him over. JR tries to pull Adam away but Tad asks him to stay, worrying Krystal even more. Joe and Angie stay for a while but soon Tad asks them to leave to. When he is alone with Adam, Adam says Kathy really is Kate. Tad wants proof.
Krystal returns to Tad's room and shows him the adoption certificate. He is stunned and asks where Adam found it. Adam says it was in the mansion but swears he doesn't know how it got there. Opal, Ruth, Joe, JR and Jake return. All are worried because Tad has suddenly gone pale. Adam offers to go but Tad tells him to stay and tell the family the good news. He hesitates and then says, "I found Kate." The family is stunned. Adam tells them that Kathy is Kate. Krystal brings up Adam's "deal" - that he'd give Tad Kate if Krystal would come back to him! - from several months back. He admits he has known for months. JR and Jake angrily confront Adam but Joe calms everyone down. Adam leaves. Krystal follows him, so do Opal, Ruth and Jake. JR stays with Tad and Joe. He asks what he should do now. Tad wants to talk to Julia. Joe, sadly, tells him about Julia's death. He is stunned. JR brings up Kathy, saying this is going to be great news for her; Tad says finding a father won't make it easier to lose a mother.
