Hey there, soap fans! |

Originally, the show was very "family oriented" with grandparents, parents, children and grandchildren. It mostly focused on the everyday lives of the children and grandchildren (Linc, Kitty/Kelly, Phil Brent, Tara Martin, Tad Martin, and several others) of the Martins, Tylers, and Kane families (among others). Unfortunately, AMC has gotten away from the "family oriented" soap with classic storylines and have chosen to focus on a few characters who have very few ties to the original show. (Of all the characters the show currently focuses on, only Kendall has a "bloodline" tie to the original cast of the show by being Erica's daughter and Mona's grandaughter. (Ryan, Greenlee, Annie, Aiden, Zach, etc. have NO ties to the original AMC families). That's why I think Frons should have just created a totally different soap for all his "favorites" and left AMC alone so it could have stayed with its tradition and roots with only occasional "newbies" joining the show. AMC has had so many new characters coming and going over the past 2-3 years that they should have put in a revolving door. Unfortunately, all of the "history" of the show is likely too far gone to ever be resumed again ..... too much time has passed. |
