Especially since his head only got a scratch from the gun shot. I thought amnesia took a blow to the head to get.

I was hoping they would come up with a diagnosis other than amnesia, like Alzheimer's Disease or something that would be challenging for the actor and his family & friends. Then they could explore the latest medical findings for this very complex disease.

I don't know what's on the writer's minds giving a neurological problem for Ryan to create and perform. I'm not very fond of the Ryan character, but anyhow, to realistically portray a neurological problem as a result of a head trauma is not an easy task for the most well developed actors. Writers seem to be giving unwarranted praise.
