Isn't it funny that everybody in Pine Valley goes to the hospital to donate blood to Greenlee and Frankie? All Pine Valley residents have the same blood type?

I wandered the same thing when Joe told them to round up everyone to donate for the transfusions. I don't get it.

Well, it's good way to replenish the stock. Gotta figure it's gonna help somewhere depending on what they need to do. If they get O type ... that can help anyone ... if they use it for plasma purposes ... they can use most of what's given.

As someone who's been through this far too often...

...all types are invited to come donate, as they sometimes "swap" blood with the Red Cross and other providers to get what they need.

Also, I think they still spin out platelets and plasma from blood that might not be the same type, for other purposes.

O is the universal donor group. I admit, with guilt, that I'm a type AB -- the universal recipient.
