The big returns, the ad campaigns, tossing Sabine out on her behind, none of it paid off. Last week's ratings followed the pattern from the last few months of up down up down up down with insignificant changes from week to week. After ALL THAT, it didn't pay off for ABC. It was all pretty much for nothing.

ABC should have handled these returns the RIGHT way. Maybe the ratings wouldn't have been any different but at least people wouldn't have been so turned off by their desperate antics.

Angie/Jesse and RB should have been equally promoted. SS should've been transferred to another role on another show. The REAL Greenlee ads should not have happened. The writers should have been changed (I've seen fanfic better than the crud we deal with- how hard can it be to find decent writers? Writer's strike aside, the writing has been bad for a long time!)

I am not saying this is in any way RB's fault. It's Brian Scott Frons. He cannot do his job correctly. He's ruined ABC daytime and he botched what could have been three fantastic returns with a potentially great payoff for ABC/AMC. Angie/Jesse might have lured in more viewers for this or next week but without a huge spike, chances are viewers who do turn in will leave or will not be able to make up for those who have been leaving in droves for the last couple of years.

The saying any publicity is good publicity was untrue in this case. IMO the producers should not have promoted this whole thing like they did. I am sure they see that now. I think maybe next time things will be different. I think the fans have got noticed on this one.JMO

Well I also think it stinks that the AMC writers "pulled out of the union" so they could go back to writing for AMC because "they were under a financial burden." BULLCRAP!! This is yet another reason I'm not going to watch AMC. They now have "non-Union" writers. (Megan McTavish was right when she said B & E just wanted the money.) They are no more financial strapped than any other writer, actor, stage hand, or anyone else involved in these shows.

Without unions, people wouldn't be able to make a decent wage, especially in this day and age. There is a reason we have unions, and it's to look after the workers to make sure they get a "fair shake" during negotiations for fair wages and benefits. (Both my parents were union workers their entire lives, so I have the highest respect for unions and what they stand for).

As far as I am concerned, B & E are SCABS now. Even the actors themselves are walking the picket lines in support of the writers. And its not likely that B & E will make a difference anyway. In my opinion, the show was actually doing better while they were gone. It certainly wasn't doing any worse, that's for sure.

Frons' next move should be to get rid of these horrendous writers. I agree that many of the fan fics I have read are 10 times better than what the AMC writers produce!

BellaMia ITA about the writers getting that "exception". Since the results of the strike do not effect soap writers then either the union should have given them ALL exceptions, or none of them should have requested exceptions. Especially not the head writers who financially you'd think would be in better shape than the lower level writers. This is a hardship for ALL writers, and I'm sure many could use that same excuse for an exception. But they don't, because of principle.

And really it doesn't do the show any good any way to have B&E back. The writing is no good either way.

Actually, they originally asked for that "exception," but I think now they just "resigned" from the union (if there is such a thing) because so many people commented on them asking for the "exception." Who knows.

I agree, though. It doesn't matter because the writing sucks either way you look at it. I'm still trying to figure out why Frons hired writers that were already responsible for "sinking" (causing the cancellation of)three other soaps?????

OK- I try not to be a "conspiracy theorist" but given the differences between the campaign for Rebecca Budig and the campaign for Sarah Brown, in some ways I wonder if it is not in fact Frons' job to GET AMC canceled. I saw a news report awhile back about the strike and it's impact on soaps, and it was pointed out that the costs of producing soaps are so much higher than, say, a talk show or court show. So what if ABC decided to take it's first soap in the daily line up and replace it with a cheaper to produce talk show? And of course not wanting to get people in an uproar, decided to make some bad choices to intentionally railroad the show?

It just seems that Frons tries so much harder for a show like GH than AMC, and I don't know how he can do such a great job for one and a lousy job for another unless it's intentional but supposed to look unintentional.

Sorry Kikyo, not any more. AMC used to be tops. It's gone downhill along with the rest of ABC soaps. All we are getting are recycled storylines, moved from soap to soap. Nothing original. I think the way they handled this Greenlee thing was horrible. They could have said, ORIGINAL Greenlee, not the "real" greenlee. It is a very bad reflection on Sabine Singh. I thought she was doing a wonderful job. I hope she lands a really good role on a daytime soap, hopefully on one that I watch.

it's definately gone down hill

I see improvemnets lately,I really think their trying to get AMC back on track.A very reliable source on another board is hinting that B&E are out and new writers will be brought in,that can only make things better.Plus they hinted Skye Chandler might be coming back i'm excited about that.The ratings aren't that bad and have gone up recently and their beating 3 other soaps.

i haven't watched it in over a week now, because i'm tired of watching it,all the newcomers thats only been back 2 weeks and they been in the hospital half dead for nearly the whole 2 weeks,and we know there not gonna die so why keep draggin the crap out? between all thats been going on with AMC i could careless about it now ,i'm full time Y&R now, i do hope in the future i can turn AMC on again and see something new and get back into it again
