I think watching Soaps are great fun. I don't want to get too tied up in the drama, so I only watch two of them. I love AMC and Y&R, and that's enough. It's also great fun to communicate with fans, and voice our feelings about the soap dramas. Let's continue to have fun in any way possible.

Most of my friends thought I was nuts because I watch soaps. I watched Dallas all the time, almost every Friday, and again in reruns. I asked them what they watched, and most of them watched the games on TV, and wrestling. Now, I knew I had them. Wrestling and soaps are a lot alike. Both have story lines, both have good and bad guys, both are not real. the only difference is that soaps make love in the afternoon, and wrestling is orchestrated mayhem at night.

So true CT. Me and my father have this argument all the time, he makes fun of my soaps yet he is addicted to wrestling and Im always telling him that wrestling is not much different than a soap opera.

I totally agree. I only watch AMC but years ago I watched wrestling and it got so far out that I gave it up. I also watched Dallas religously. Of course soaps get really far out too but I still watch this one. I'm hooked!!

Soaps is not senseless! I watch soaps all the time. I first started watching soaps when I was 11 years old. My first soap was DOOL. I watched it with my mother everyday when it came on.

I too watched Dalas religeous! The funny thing is I also watch wrestling! Peole laugh at me for watching wrestling, and I agree with everything they say about, but I can't help it. I like it! While I am only addicted to one soap, AMC, I kno that I let myself, I'd watch them all!

To: People who say soaps are sensless
Well you know what... LIFE is senseless unless you enjoy it! So NO soaps are not senseless because we enjoy them. What is life good for if you dont do things you love! for me that is whatching my soaps

Soaps provide many many things ...
Comfort - *as Addicted said and I & others can commiserate ... when losing a loved one and want to go to that place where we feel safe for at least an hour.
education - back when Angie & Jesse were the Supercouple ... they were THE FIRST AFRICAN AMERICAN supercouple on soaps. They are case in point right there.
As well as the storylines of - Sexuality *Lesbian/Gay/Bi-sexual -- Bianca&Dr Lynn Carson ,OLTL Billy played by Ryan Phillipe, and Devon
Medical-Many medical info give ... most recent bringing back which was intro'd on OLTL The Cochlear Implant.
Aids Awareness day when Ryan White made us all cry. I can go on and on.
But I'll stop boring you here.

So tell your friends. If they think it's senseless ... well ... then they're missing the point and maybe Mr Frons has a position for them.

Thank you

U go girl!! Ring on!!
I think there's no differnce in a soap and a football game. It's just that soaps are m-f!!
Both have tackles
Both have score
Both have downs
again I can go on ... but if you ask many football player and such ... they watch the soaps too while in rehab in the whirlpool etc. Something to occupy themselves.

I wonder what your friends are watching...and how many of those shows are technically soaps.

I consider "Lost" to be a soap, for one (although I've never watched it, from what I hear, it's a soap).
