The Product Placement Sledgehammer of Stupidity !!!

First it was subtle. A mention here, a package there.

Then it was all the Disney stuff...and the subtlety started to fade. Oh yeah, the parent company. Heh heh. It was the Product Placement Nod and Wink of Irony.

Then came Colby and her friends wandering into the Comeback talking about this incredible movie they were going to see, and just happened to have a poster for (unroll, show to camera and smile)...but even that was a mere whack over the head with the Product Placement Yardstick of Demanding.

But this fashion show sponsored by Campbells...Mm mm good Fusion? I thought Fusion was a cosmetics company, so what's with the fashion show? And so we pass from Yardstick to the Product Placement Sledgehammer of Stupidity.

I know there are bills to be paid, but this is having the exact opposite effect on me. I will not purchase any Campbell's products until ABC Ad Sales stops treating viewers like fricking idiots.

I'm surprised that Julia doesn't prescribe a dose of TamaFlu for Quentin. And oops, the New Old Greenlee isn't showing that bottle in her hands to the camera properly. Did Erica have her manicure yesterday done with Sally Hansen Hard as Nails? Will Kendall use First Response to see if she's preggers by Aidan?

Subtle works. Sledgehammer of Stupidity doesn't.

(And yes, I'm very much aware of the Stupidhammer's recent appearance on Ugly Betty for the 29 bridesmaids movie or whatever it was. Ad sales has been busy in prime time too.)

Between this, and the Richie thing, I think I'll watch public television and buy what I want.
