Forever. That's what they do.

You're right. Maybe it's time for a bit of amnesia. Then he'll re-start his life as Mr. Nice Guy-ha ha

Quote Kristi: I think they've got the start of his changes, Hungarian Princess, with his attraction to Babe. I know he's manipulating her, but there is a least some real affection there on his part. It's like, for the first time in his life, he sees that someone can love/like him just as he is. They need to explore that a little bit more, imho.

Soapland will have to figure how to make him "nice". Amnesia City baby!

Quote Kristi: I'm going to disagree but only on one point - I like Richie! I like the actor and I think the character could be a great "evil entity", every soap needs one and not one who is just brought out every now and again to explain situations. Let me team up with Adam, give him a business to run and see how that power corrupts him even more. It could be interesting.

However, I'm sick of the Richie/Annie angle...feels like its played out already. So, if they're going to redeem him, do it quickly - and then let him focus his psychopathicness on someone else!

I love the Adam/Richie idea. Two evil minds...wow! And with Babe trying to make up her mind between JR & Richie, I think it could be a real winner.

Quote recyclepile: I was happy to think that the character Richie was only on AMC for a limited time...irredeemable sociopath comes to town, wreaks a little havoc and then dies.

No such luck. Now someone's thrown a bone marrow transplant into the mix.

It is vert sad to say '' Richie must die'' But hey you are right!, I liked him at the beginning, when he was not the richie we know now, but Wes! Now that we know that he is really a psycho, I have to agree with you ! Richie Out!!!, the story line is boring anyway !

In my own RL, I'm still reeling and attempting to recover from a four year relationship with a sociopath similar to Richie. I have to say that while the actor is talented, comes relatively close, and makes a good effort to portray such a madman, the writing doesn't even scratch the surface of what a true sociopath does.

The manipulation, the lying, the guilt trips, the false tears, the ability to find someone's triggers in a matter of seconds and then shamelessly push those buttons...watching this is making me feel like I'm reliving my situation again, but with a lightweight version being lived by clueless characters.

I'm getting the impression that this storyline is some sort of an object lesson. "How to" say no to sociopaths, how to realize when you're being manipulated. That's fine. But it has to come to an end.

I stayed away from all soaps for about a decade, only coming back to AMC during the Zarf story and OLTL a few weeks after that. Characters such as Richie are telling me it's time to walk away again.

PS: I realize we're in a writer's strike and some storylines are being time-stretched to the limits, but this one should have ended weeks ago.

I think Billy Miller is doing a terrific job with his character. He's scary as all get-out, which I imagine is what a true psychopath is like. From the start he's had me going back and forth in my feelings about him. Just when I think he's turning over a new leaf, you find out he's been playing someone. He did it again today with his act in front of the two doctors when he 'found out' his prison psychiatrist had been killed, then we learn from his conversation on the phone that he himself was behind the whole thing.

I have always found psychological thrillers to be scarier than blood & guts thrillers, and Richie isn't letting me down in this regard.

Again, there's a difference between a psychopath and a sociopath, which is what Richie is.

And hey, I think I solved my dilemma...whenever his face appears on screen, I check my remote control to see if it works. And it does! TV goes off!

Not to worry, I usually remember to turn it back on for the 6pm news. That's a soap in itself.

I could really like Richie if he had some regard for Human Life! This character has none. That's where I draw the line. I can't redeem anyone who purposefully will take another person's life for no reason other than their own personal greed. He is so far off the radar. I had high hopes for him, but they went too far.

ps. I just wanna slap Babe, I wish Annie would.

I think he would have left Emma in Mexico after checking her bone marrow if Annie hadn't called when she did. I know he wouldn't risk a kidnapping charge....Well not unless Derrick had the case!

I Agree. Richie makes my skin crawl. I watch soaps to be entertained, not to take pills for aniexty. Sometimes I think the writers are putting their own lives out there. Get back to telling stories that make you feel good more than bad.

:) Always do what feels right for your peace. If the s/l dredges up pain- you owe yourself the calm of letting it go. Hope you feel better .

I agree! But I swear Annie is getting on my last nerve also. Every scene she is either in an argument with Rithie or doing it with Ryan. Same old story day after day. Boooooooooring.

Oh great. Now Richie is going to steal the child.

Can we just kill him off already?

Where is his freakin' father? Was he tested?

How about this: Let's skip over the childnapping and Annie-leaves-to-find-them thing.

Richie dies. (Die, Richie, Die!!!!!)

A few months later, the actor who you all are so fond of returns as a look-alike good guy. Then everyone's happy!

I would be interested in a J.R./Babe/Richie love triangle...if Alexa Havins were still Babe.
