I was happy to think that the character Richie was only on AMC for a limited time...irredeemable sociopath comes to town, wreaks a little havoc and then dies.


No such luck. Now someone's thrown a bone marrow transplant into the mix.


In my own RL, I'm still reeling and attempting to recover from a four year relationship with a sociopath similar to Richie. I have to say that while the actor is talented, comes relatively close, and makes a good effort to portray such a madman, the writing doesn't even scratch the surface of what a true sociopath does.


The manipulation, the lying, the guilt trips, the false tears, the ability to find someone's triggers in a matter of seconds and then shamelessly push those buttons...watching this is making me feel like I'm reliving my situation again, but with a lightweight version being lived by clueless characters.


I'm getting the impression that this storyline is some sort of an object lesson. "How to" say no to sociopaths, how to realize when you're being manipulated. That's fine. But it has to come to an end.


I stayed away from all soaps for about a decade, only coming back to AMC during the Zarf story and OLTL a few weeks after that. Characters such as Richie are telling me it's time to walk away again.

PS: I realize we're in a writer's strike and some storylines are being time-stretched to the limits, but this one should have ended weeks ago.

I'm going to disagree but only on one point - I like Richie! I like the actor and I think the character could be a great "evil entity", every soap needs one and not one who is just brought out every now and again to explain situations. Let me team up with Adam, give him a business to run and see how that power corrupts him even more. It could be interesting.

However, I'm sick of the Richie/Annie angle...feels like its played out already. So, if they're going to redeem him, do it quickly - and then let him focus his psychopathicness on someone else!

I still have that DREAM of RICHIE showing up at LILLYS DOOR with PUPPIES or KITTENS!!

Im sick of the ANNIE/RYAN/RICHIE story...How many times is he going to want her to KILL HIM!!! ( I GUES ANNIE is only good at DRAWING and TELLING FAIRY TALES!)

BUT I BET SHE HATED HANSEL AND GRETEL!!!

i don't care for richie, but i agree a soap needs a varity of characters to make it intresting, and i do hate long out streached storylines, so many of those these days.

I don't like Ritchie, but honestly Annie has gotten so annoying that I am rooting for Richy to take out.

Sorry I left out a word. Should read I want Richie to take Annie out as in for good.

It's too bad his character is so unfavorable because I think he's a great actor and quite attractive. I wonder if the writers were trying to mimic a "Scott Peterson" type of character with him. I also wonder if something will happen to change him into a good guy. How long could he get away with being a sociopath and fooling everyone?

I think they've got the start of his changes, Hungarian Princess, with his attraction to Babe. I know he's manipulating her, but there is a least some real affection there on his part. It's like, for the first time in his life, he sees that someone can love/like him just as he is. They need to explore that a little bit more, imho.

I could take him or leave him. I've not really found myself too interested in this whole storyline.
