All My Children - MESSAGE BOARDS

First I must say that I live in the DFW area so I'm always a day behind the rest of the country. That being said WTH were the writers thinking when they had Frankie take a qt. bottle of starter fluid from over the kitchen stove, where a fire extinguisher should be & not something flammable, and then go over to a waste paper basket & pour a bunch of the fluid over the CD's & tape & light a match to get rid of them once they saw that Madison wasn't on the tape? No smoke detectors in the apartment either I guess.
A safer/better way would be to get out their paper shredder and put the CD/DVD in it & cut them up. Most will do that nowadays. I know mine does. Guess that wouldn't have been dramatic enough for them? Open up the cassette and pull the tape out & toss the tape. IF he HAD to start a fire why not take the basket out onto the fire escape & do it there? DUMB DUMB DUMB is all I can say.
Also didn't they notice that there was NO date/time stamp on the tape to see that Madison was edited out & could use it as proof that there was a laps in time? Still shaking my head over that one too.

I was thinking why would they have a doctor start a fire in his own apartment with no windows open haven't the writers ever heard of smoke inhalation well probably not.

:-) Ladies, stop making me laugh!!! These writers ALL appear to be smoking a little "somethin', somethin'"; why else would they crank out these continually ridiculous s/l's?? I don't even get upset anymore...I just laugh out loud @the things they have these people do! Don't try to analyze/make sense of any of it,you'll drive yourself crazy; just take it w/a grain of salt and remember,'that's entertainment'...um, at least it's THEIR version of it!

Hubbardfan..these ridiculous sl's are the reason that I don't bother to tape the show anymore...I've been watching since the early years and I don't even bother anymore...my lack of interest started almost a year ago...so sad....I come to the boards to see what's going on....

The way Frankie went about it would be hilarious
had it not be so dangerous. Lighter fluid near the
stove and lighting it in the house. I don't even keep
l.f. in the house, it's in the shed. We all know there
are some people who will think that's okay to do. Maybe
we were all left in the dark and at some point they de-
cided to switch from the catagory of daytime serial to
daytime comedy! It sure would explain a lot! I am a great
defender of AMC and for me to make fun of it is very
unusual, but then so are the story lines.
