All My Children - MESSAGE BOARDS

This week I have two topics that have been on my mind and would like to share with all of you. I would really love to hear back from anyone reading this column with their thoughts.

First, I want to say that I have been enjoying Annie much more now then when she first came on the show. In the beginning she was just too perfect, a little “Stepford Wife”. I started to come around originally when she and Kendall first became friends and enjoyed the Zach/Kendall and Ryan/Annie relationship. It was very real, four adults making a blended extended family.

I started to really enjoy her during the Ryan has amnesia storyline, especially the night he came home and she had his bags packed and told him to go. Bravo Annie!
I also enjoyed her relationship with brother Ritchie. I really felt a connection between them and how he had tormented her their whole lives. It was unfortunate that they painted Ritchie’s character into a corner and made him so unredeemable that he was killed off. I did enjoy his presence to Annie after he died.

I like “Crazy Annie”. She is the new “Janet from Another Planet.” I enjoyed the pairing of Aiden and her. I loved the scene where she is pretending to have been kidnapped and then you see her sitting in a bubble bath.

I am not however enjoying the new plotline. Yes, I like she has Adam on her side, although I am not quite sure of his true motives. I still think they are going to sleep together and Annie will get pregnant and be the bearer of the next Chandler heir. I am annoyed though that everyone in town, who has their own sordid past, is either trying to get Annie sent away, trying to keep her from ever seeing Emma, and now are going for the trifecta and blame Stuart’s murder on her.

My next train of thought is about the show itself. I have been watching AMC since 1976. I have remained loyal through the good times and bad. I started thinking the other night when I could not fall asleep about the show right now and how it was in the past.

Presently, (in this case the last couple of years), there have been many decent storylines. There have also been some stinkers. On the positive: Kendall and Erica finally bonding. Kendall’s loyal relationship with Bianca and then Josh. The entire Michael Cambias story from the first time he met Kendall on a business trip, all the way to through the murder mystery and eventually to the reveal of the murderer, Bianca.

I have enjoyed Erica’s first experience with drugs. Her portrayal was dead on. I can personally attest to that. When she went down to Front Street to buy drugs and almost got killed but Noah saved her and they became friends.

The Maria/Dimitri/Edmund/Gloria story. Who was the father?

What I am interested in asking you readers, What storylines have you enjoyed and which ones really tanked? I do not know if TPTB read these message boards, because if they did, it would seem to me they would see what the fans liked and did not like and could make the show tops all the time.
