I find this super annoying. After all that Brot has had to endure for his injuries in Iraq and to have him his story to AMC has been lovely. I admire him for allowing him to share this. So now Frankie goes off for a week and has his hands injured and its just the end of the world. I know he is a surgeon and he needs his hands but to me this is a pity party that just isn't necessary. It seems to diminish Brot's injury like he is telling Brot that HIS is so much worse. Think of the months of pain this man went through. To look in the mirror and see himself the way he is. The mental pain he had to endure. This is just my opinion but AMC should have left this story line out.

If I remember some of Frankie's history correctly, he never was a strong person.
It is typical of the character, I guess. But Frankie was pretty hard on Brot, trying to tell him how to "get over" his injuries. It is really not only an insult to the character Brot, but to J.R. Martinez who portrays him. Writers made a big mistake here.

My point exactly. If this was a new story line and it only was about Frankie then it might not have the impact with me that it does but after Brot telling his story it just seem WRONG of AMC to do this to him. I am sure J.R. looks in the mirror and wishes it was only his hands that was damaged.

I agree too much self pity and yes, it takes away from Brot enough already..please! The whole storyline with RTandy and Frankie stinks, it is so boring.

ICAM - JRM is so brave to have gone through what he has and then to be an actor on a popular soap. I think the writers should have left this s/l about Frankie out also.

You know, I think some people just have it in for me, because I posted a similar thread where people got their undies in a bunch.

I hate "recycled" stories. Brot's story was very inspirational, and while I enjoyed it, hey..it's over now. Why play this story AGAIN with another character? Was this something to show Frankie that he should practice what he preaches? I don't know, but we got the picture with Brot and Taylor. What I liked most about Brot is that his story was REAL, and nothing half created without proper research as soaps are known for doing. But this story with Frankie is certainly on the "unreal side. How does one crush BOTH hands and nothing else? Unless he had his hands placed face down while someone banged them with a hammer, I do NOT get how this injury was even possible!
