...Frankie is becoming annoying lately. This "crushed hands" storyline and him getting drunk today is a little over the top. We understand that he's a war vet, and that lots of people go to war and never really come back the same. So I can sympathize with them, however, the thing that's making people upset with Frankie, is that he preached SOOOO much to Brot and Taylor about how they should or should not act, but now all of a sudden he has forgotten everything he preached to them. This storyline makes him look hypocritical and silly.

I think the story is very realistic. If you think about it people always give their opinions about things prior to them going through similiar stories, but before it happens to you its hard to really understand. When it happens to you its a lot easier to understand. I can imagine that if I were in Iraq and came back handicap I would probaly want to take down a few bottles myself. The story seems more realistic to me then these murder mysteries and love Jake/Amanda, but this baby story line as well. This is something that vets do really have to go through. Many vets when they return home are so mixed up they even turn to a life of crime because their minds are not right anymore. This is the only real story being played out on AMC right now and I bet it has happened to many other families as well. They even have to go through detox before returning to civilization. Its a process that I know my brother-n-law had to go through. Thank God he wasn't physically hurt, but the mental state lasts a long time. I'm going to give this story line a thumbs up instead because of originality.

Are you kidding me? The man is a doctor and he just lost the use of his hands, he shouldn't be acting like that? Sorry but I think it's very realistic.

Hi MissChef:
Yes, and I so do agree w/you on Frankie! I have been wanting to "spout" off but figured I would leave it alone. When I read your piece here. I said, Yes! Yes! Yes! and, not only that I find it "Comical"! It suppose to be a serious storyline. But I find it absolutely "Comical"! When it showed him drinking out of the glass~I thought well if his hands were hurt all that bad, most injured folks would use a "Straw" to drink out of...Hahahahahahahaaa! And when Him and Randi met at the door and she grabbed his hands, I found that Too "Comical" as well, b/c it was over "Dramatical" I couldn't help it, I was LMAO! I am so sorry, but this is how I feel about that!

I don't! I think that a doctor would be mature and responsible to realize that there are other avenues to approach this instead of acting like a spoiled 3 year old...and come on wouldn't a doctor w/any sense use a "straw" to drink out of instead of using his injured hands?????

I know exactly what you mean. He's got everything else in the world, his hands will heal. Maybe not well enought to be a surgeon, but enough to function! He's lucky he's got his face and all his limbs! He's gone over the top.

I think Frankie is annoying as he(( right now. I too, was wondering why he wouldn't get a straw. I also think there is something realistic to this. If you're a surgeon, you're going to be twisted about not having the use of your hands. I think that part is correct.

I'm also wondering how both 'hands' were injured but no arms, torso, or anything else. That's kind of weird. If I really think about I really don't know how that could happen. Was he holding onto a steering wheel with 2 hands and it exploded?

No, I'm not kidding.

Now that we've got that out of the way...the storyline is a waste of time. We just saw Brot go through the same exact thing. Brot and Taylor both. They wallowed in self-pity but they overcame everything and made their way back. Now to see this redundant story play out AGAIN, is getting ridiculous. People are sick of recycled stories. The whole "doctor loses his hands,...blah, blah, blah..." was already predictable. Doctors=hands=doctors. Yeah, we get it. In the end, his hands won't STAY crushed, and he'll be a doctor again. "WHOA...didn't see that coming!"

And THAT is what I find silly and no so realistic.

Exactly! But you can't explain that to people who'll believe anything.
