Amanda's baby storyline is unrealistic

First of all, they have Amanda and Jake and everyone else behaving like cowering wimps because of David. There is no court in America that would allow a father to take a child away from it's mother unless the mother was proven UNFIT. If David swiped the baby he would be charged with kidnapping. Amanda could never be proven an unfit mother and now that she is married to Jake, again, there is no court that would allow full custody to David. What would be required is for visitation rights. This storyline needs to end now. I also hate seeing Jake portrayed as a man who is double crossing and lying to the woman he supposedly loves. |

We just don't hear it on the 6 and 10'oclock news. There are many more cases that give custody to the wrong parent(s) may it be the father or the mother (w/new spouse's or not). And, There are extremely many more that land the child or children into the right custodian(s)(w/new spouse's or not). You probably think that I just want to dispute you on this. But I'm not, I do agree w/you overall. Just keep in mind that there is "corruption" everywhere here in America. Just b/c we don't always see it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. And, I apologize b/4 hand if I am dead wrong about this. I don't like a lot of these storylines either and I feel that I could do just as good writing as the writers on these soaps, it' always the writer(s)choice. It's his world, and his call. And, about Jake that I will differ you on totally. It is that if we like someone we will bend the rules a bit more than for the one we like less. I used to call Jake, "Jake the Snake"! I just don't like him. But I can say that I have settled a bit now that he is back w/Amanda. But the "off-twisted" storylines that we don't like someone else will.

Say what you want about David but if the baby is his he a right to see it. I think Tad and Liza were talking about this exact same thing on Fridays show. |

Not to mention, that David already signed away his rights. No court is just gonna simply overlook that. |

I think it would be great if the baby actually turns out to be jakes. Now that would put a knife in david's heart again... i really want amanda to keep her baby! |

It's terribly unrealistic. and THINK ABOUT THIS. Why would ALL of these people that don't even know Amanda be willing to help her? When Frankie was new in town. He didn't even know Amanda or David. Yet, he was willing to risk his job changing the time of when the baby was conceived. Why would he risk his job for a woman he doesn't even know? And think about the doctors that are putting up a fake death certificate. Why would they risk getting put to jail for a woman they don't know!? That makes NO SENSE at all whatsoever. It's totally STUPID. There is not a single person in this WORLD that is willing to throw everything away for a perfect stranger. |

Aside from this story line being unrealistic, it is actually making me feel sorry for David, and that is something I have never done before. I always loved to hate him. He is the best villain on the show. But, when you think that every child connected to him, except Marissa, has died, it is pretty sad, and then his brother Leo died and he did love Greenlee as well, and she is "gone". And, don't forget what a psycho mother he had. How depressing his life is. |

Yeah, what Sea Admiral said about corruption! Totally true! Louisiana is riddled with it! Custody cases here are won by those with the most money! I have seen it first hand and my daughter and I were victims of it.... So that is totally accurate... On today's show Tad pointed out to Liza that keeping the baby in Pine Valley right under David's nose is (and these are not Tad's words, but mine) a pretty silly stratagy... Jake has vowed to Amanda to keep the baby safe from David's clutches. How does he intend to achieve that goal when he is helping to keep the baby right there, basically in David's face? It is only a matter of time before David detects this chicanary. Best case scenerio would be for a DNA test to reveal Jake as the father, but then that opens up a whole 'nother can of worms and Liza becomes the bad guy because she won't want to give the baby back to Amanda and Jake. So. While the whole storyline is unrealistic, I guess it serves the purpose.... |

I couldn't agree with Tad more today. What he told Liza that telling David that his child is dead is beyond cruel and stupid. Think about how many DNA tests David has pulled. I hope Tad tells him. Pretty much all of David's children is "dead" other than Marissa. Like Tad said,"It's not like David is going to (kill) him." Fight David head on, but the COLDEST, CRUELEST thing that a person could do is lie about a person's kid being dead. That is low. Not even David Hayward is that low. |

That would be perfect! I'd always like them as a couple. Hated it when they broke up and he went with LT. |
