Born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland, Eileen Herlie worked for the Scottish National Theatre and in the English theater. One of her first roles on the London stage was "The Eagle Has Two Heads."
Deciding to head to Broadway, she landed a role starring opposite Richard Burton in the play "Hamley". She also had the opportunity to work with Sir Laurence Olivier.
Joining All My Children, Eileen has portrayed her character Myrtle Fargate since 1976.
Eileen passed away October 8, 2008 from complications of pneumonia. You can read that here. She last aired as Myrtle Fargat on June 23, 2008.
